Summary: This was ordered from an affiliated vendor, not directly from Amazon. I have one of these already and am very happy with it. After some delay I was contacted and told that they had run out of the HC25, but was offered the SC-HC27 at the same price, which I was told was a newer model and an upgrade. I got it and it works fine except that the new model no longer plays AM, so I can't listen to the ball game on it, which is one thing I often do.
Summary: I purchased mine in April 2010. It worked on a temperamental bases from the get-go. Now, at not even a year later, doesn't work at all. I've gotten the run around from Panasonic with honoring their warranty. Probably will be the last Panasonic product I buy.
Summary: I wanted a BOSE system, but didn't want to spend that kind of money, so I bought this. It's just fine. No problems. Easy to put together. I did buy a $14 3-year warranty just in case it breaks down. And then I would probably buy a BOSE system!!
Summary: Spend the extra money and buy new. I purchased this unit and it worked fine for the first month and now it won't power on. I actually really like this stereo and am sad its not working. I contacted the seller and they said it is past their 30 day return policy. So now I have to send it to a service center and HOPE they fix it. I am unable to just exchange it for a new one because it was refurbished and the seller is not an authorized Panasinic dealer.
Summary: I was looking for a unit that was iPod compatible that was also affordable and that I could easily unplug and move from one room to another. This stereo seemed like a great option for me. It has a single disc CD player, an iPod/iPhone dock that charges while it plays and an AM/FM radio function. It is compact and easy to use. The big issue for me was the sound. I am by no means a speaker snob, but even for me this sounded terrible. The bass was overpowering.
Summary: I bought this unit after reading all the reviews comparing it to the Bose Wave system. I admit the Bose Wave sounds nice but it is way overpriced. But this Panasonic unit sounds nothing like the Bose Wave. I played my CDs and Ipod on it and the sound is either muffled or tinny. Those are your only options. And I'm no audiophile. The system it was replacing was my old Radio Shack Optimus stereo which sounds so much fuller than the Panasonic.
Summary: Panasonic SC-HC25 Compact Stereo System I wanted to like this system sooo bad. It looked very nice. The sound was just off somehow. No stereo effect and rather tinny. I tried to get over it but finally returned it . I am awaiting refund. So far Amazon has been good. May have been defective. After researching and listening to some other units I will go with the Logitech- S7151, Sells for about $99-$119. It is more of a boom box style but the sound is much better.
Summary: Nice stereo and it looks great; the sound is good but not great. It does not possess a lot of bass so if you are not a person who likes deep bass it will do. The high and mid levels are good, and you get a lot of features for the price. Overall I'm happy considering the price I paid.
