Summary: I've owned this system for 9 months, and it's performed flawlessly. I rate it 5 stars not because it's the greatest stereo ever, but because of the value it represents. You simply can't get this much build quality & sound quality for this price anywhere else. I began buying Onkyo products in 2001 because of their reputation, after owning other brands like Sony, Yamaha, Denon and Pioneer.
Pros: Attractive Design, Easy Controls, Easy To Set Up, Great Sound
Summary: I use this receiver as a temporary audio/video set up for my big screen tv. The included speakers are marginal at best. Upgrading to JBL bookshelf and sub 12 speakers makes this receiver a standout for a unit so compact!
Pros: Attractive Design, Easy Controls, Easy To Set Up, JBL spkrs improve sound, JBL sub improve bass, Sub out is nice feature
Summary: I shopped hard looking for a stereo system for my bedroom. I wanted something compact, yet powerful, and packed with quality. I own several other Onkyo products and have always been pleased with their performance, so it shouldn't have been any surprise that this unit would fill the bill. Needless to say, it did...and then some. This unit could be used in a much larger room than a bedroom if wanted, it has guts, but is quite compact.
Pros: Attractive Design, Easy Controls, Easy To Set Up, Great Sound, Powerful
Summary: excellent, but very little adjustment available via the equalizer or trebel bass settings. They just dont offer enough range. But, for the money, a slick looking and tight sounding unit. and the Ipod dock kills when hooked to your tv as well.
Summary: My goal was to put a very small footprint system on top of an electric piano in a medium-size room. The speakers would have to be hidden below, in the empty space at the bottom of the piano. The system was supposed to be used mainly as a CD player during vocal lessons, with a possible addition of a turntable. When I checked various mini-systems, I realized that they, generally, produce a low quality sound, inacceptable for classical music.
STRAIGHT FOWARD, NICE SOUNDING, WRAT TECHNOLOGY.....AND HALF THE PRICE OF THAT BOSE WAVE RADIO...........

Summary: I was going to get a boombox but said to myself "do I really need another one of those". So I forgot about the boombox with it's limited sound quality. So I looked into micro stereo systems. There are more expensive and better micro systems. I tried the Bose Wave Radio and I do like this Onkyo CS-415 micro stereo system much more at half the price of the insanely priced Bose Wave Radio.
