Summary: This system does everything it says it will. What it won't do is blow you away with power or bass - but it's not designed to do that. Is great for a bedroom, office, or small room. I have yet to hook up a sub woofer to the sub output. That may make quite a difference. Overall I like this item.
NICE LITTLE SYSTEM, BUT COULD USE LONGER SPEAKER WIRE
EeeVee "Another reader", Amazon
13 January 2013
Summary: After extensive on-line research, I purchased this system from Amazon. It promptly arrived, and worked well right out of the box. It replaced an older non-Onkyo system which recently stopped working. Included with this system is only about four feet of speaker wire… not enough for my needs. Thus, I did not use the wire that was in the box.
Summary: Was wanting a book shelf HI-FI system that would work for my AZ family room which is 14' by 20' The CS345-CD picks up a station in Prescott AZ real well the tuner sounds very Musical, a good CD player an does not take up a lot of space. Am retired an have had a lot of stereo equipment over the year. the sound is musical and balanced.
Summary: We were looking for a small system to replace our full sized Onkyo/Polk audio system as we downsized into an apartment. This is a great choice for this application. Crisp, full sound in a small package. iPod interface is flawless. FM tuner very good. Only problem I had was overriding auto fm preset with station it missed. Finally got; most likely operator error. Haven't used the CD player yet as CDs are in storage.
Summary: There is a design flaw in the product. The CS-345 features a top-loading clean-cover dock for iPod/iPhone. When the ipod touch is in place, a bump forward or backward on the ipod can damage the connector to the stereo. This will keep the ipod from working property. Remove the ipod before moving your receiver anywhere, and be careful about bumping it. Otherwise a great sound system.
Summary: Easy to assemble; shipped quick and packaged well; very good sound quality. So far, so good! I bought and used it in my music classroom in May, so only got a few weeks use out of it....looking forward to using it in August when school reconvenes. I'll certainly be using my IPod downloaded instrumental music in class now, and not have to purchase so many CDs.
Summary: Not a bad little mini system. The receiver section looks neat and has a sliding cover for the iPod dock. My iPhone 4S fits the dock with no problem. The speakers are nice and small and have a solid feel to them. The sound is good, if a little bright. Not a whole lot of bass out of the box, but the "S.Bass" and the Bass and Treble settings you can get some bass out of the little speakers. All of the controls are on the top of the receiver except for the CD eject button.
Summary: So far OK. But the real test is to see how long it lasts. I think Onyko should offer better speakers. Fortunately, I have some old Mission speakers that look better and sound better than the Onykos. It would also be nice if Onyko had more inputs in the back for additional components, like a record player or another pair of speakers, instead of only allowing one to connect a subwoofer. As yet, I haven't used the ipod feature.
