Summary: I wake up every day to this playing through my mid-hi-end stereo. It has oppened my life up to internet radio of local and distant stations, Android control and hi-res music downloads (96k/24 but I think it goes higher), and it is fabulous. I'm VERY sad Logitech couldn't figure out a way to keep selling this product, but I don't think I would have afforded a Squeezebox this good otherwise.
Summary: Pros: From a the price point, you will be hard to find a better device. Ability to view album art, support all major compressed and lossless file formats, USB and storage card support for the internal server software (may run sort slower than a seperate computer server) Cons: None, this unit can run its own built-in server software so no need for a computer I have used three different models of the squeezebox line and each have been nothing but a pleasent suprise to own.
Summary: This is a one of a kind product. The sound quality is excellent. It gave a new lease of life to my 6 year old audio system and I am confident I can upgrade any time to a higher setup and this unit will not fail me. There are ways with which one can customize it for even better sound quality. An audiophile's dream come true. Why logitech discontinued it , is a mystery. Perhaps they have something up their sleeve which is even better.
Summary: I would definitely recommend this product for streaming your music collection over Wi-Fi. I have this unit downstairs in my living room and it works like a charm! I can control it from my desktop, my Galaxy Nexus, My Galaxy Tab 10.1.. it streams music from my library on my computer over wi-fi with almost no hiccups... what more do you want? I don't really use Pandora or internet radio so I can't say much except that it works for me.
Pros: Easy set-up, App for Android and iOS for controlling the unit, Great quality audio, Easy to add music to the Squeezebox server, it's done automatically
Summary: I'll keep a long ongoing story short and say that I am currently in the process of upgrading/building a true yet economical hi-fi system. I was considering buying a high end cd player. A cd player's quality is basically in its DAC (digital to analog converter) and most quality cd players currently run $400 +. I was perfectly willing to go up to $1000 until I started learning about wi-fi streamers and servers.
Summary: it seems that I spend a lot more time at home lately listening to a variety of music from different internet radio stations as well as from my music server (i-tunes)so much music so little time.I'm on my third SBT one for every room in my house, you can listen to them all at once by syncing with one another and enjoy the same song in every room in your house,or you can listen to a different song in every room in your house, my favorite internet radio (last.fm) la-X and...
Summary: I spent hours upon hours researching the variety of ways to get streaming audio to my receiver without having to re-wire my entire home. This product does exactly that. I live in a rural community and have difficulty getting reception to most radio stations. I tried SirusXM and was very disappointed with the constant repetition of the same songs throughout the day.
Summary: I own a custom installation firm and have designed and installed hundreds of AV and distributed audio systems since 1989. Occasionally, I run across a product that is exceptional. The Squeezebox Touch is such a product. Of course, other experts may find a small shortcoming in this product, but that would be true for any product ever made. Nevertheless, the Squeezebox Touch delivers very very good audio quality.
