It is capable of joining most WPA and WEP protected wireless networks. The Duet features cross platform support and works with Windows, Mac and Linux systems.
The Logitech Squeezebox Duet is composed of the Squeezebox receiver (which can be wired or wireless) and the Squeezebox remote control.
The Squeezebox receiver measures 6.2 x 4.4 x 1.2 inches and comes in glossy black. The receiver has only one backlit button in the front that indicates wireless status. At the back are the power port, Ethernet port and several audio output options. It has the standard RCA output jacks as well as an optical and coaxial hi-fi digital S/PDIF audio out ports. The Squeezebox receiver also supports 802.11g wireless connectivity and features dual antennas for better wireless range.
The Squeezebox controller measures 5.75 x 2 x 0.75 inches and, like the receiver, comes in high gloss black. The remote features an LED backlit 2.4 inch TFT LCD that runs at a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels with support for up to 256k colors. It has a physical scroll wheel as well as buttons for adjusting volume, controlling music playback and navigating through the menu system.

The fact remains that once the bugs are worked out, you'll be left with one of the coolest remotes, the neatest streaming services, and best way to get high quality content from your computer to your home theater… wirelessly! Firmware Upgrade Makes Squeezebox Duet Sing Nice job with the firmware upgrade, Logitech! When we first reviewed the baby Squeezebox five months ago (issue 16.06), we weren't totally impressed — the device seemed difficult to use. Well, we've changed our tune. The Duet now connects your computer's music library to your stereo with kindergarten ease and MIT smarts. Setup is a snap — we were piping our favorite songs all over the house in minutes. But what really won... Read more
Not only is the Logitech Squeezebox Duet an elegant way to play music throughout your house, but it’s also one of the best streaming solutions available. Read more
The bottom line: With its excellent iPod-like remote, the Logitech Squeezebox Duet is an ideal way to stream the full range of digital music--including files on your computer's hard drive, premium subscription music services, and free Internet radio--to your living room stereo system. Read more
I bought this product and was rooting for it to work well bigtime. However, I have spent 8 hours this week with Logitech trying to get it to work. Logitech acknowledges a glitch it has with customers that also have Verizon Fios. After 8 hours of trouble shooting with Logitech, we did have to use another router, and got it to work. The range is short though. My laptop which runs on wifi has FAR greater distance. The product itself though is incredibly cool. Great music... Read more
I was very excited when I unwrapped my new Duet. The packaging was slick and functional. The remote was awesome, with vivid display colors. It connected to my wireless network immediately and then to my Slacker account. When I first played music, I was happy, happy, HAPPY! And about ten minutes later it just stopped. I fooled around with it, updated the software, made sure the firmware was the latest release, etc. and then got music (for about 15 minutes). Contacted... Read more
I needed a product to address 3 issues: 1) iTunes MP3 collection on one side of house. 2) Amps for media room & house speakers on other side of house. 3) Did not want to use computer monitor or media room projector to select music. My installation used a wired network connection for Duet, Wi-Fi for remote, coax & fiber digital links to two amps, 64 bit Windows 7 w/iTunes. Be sure of battery orientation in the remote. The setup was guided on the remote. Soon I saw my MP3... Read more or see product
I have all my music on a windows home server and have been using laptop to play music, but it was a big hassle to hook up laptop to AV equipment every time we wanted to listen. This is the 2nd best gadget I have bought in a long time(harmony remote being 1st). I installed the software onto my windows home server, plugged in device entered my wifi information and was listening to music in less than 10 minutes from opening the box. I handed the remote to my wife and she... Read more or see product
A friend told me about this and I simply love it. The SqueezeNetwork software is very poor (e.g., it takes a while to set up your favorite stations) but once you do it is absolutely amazing!) Absolutely best thing I've bought in a long time! Read more
