Summary: i bought mine to have a 2.0 system in my apartment, i didn't want a big sub to pound through the floor and make the neighbors mad, this works great. (it has a powered sub out if you want to add one). had it for over a year, i use it almost every day, no problems so far.
Pros: Small size, great sound, looks nice/high quality. sound is really fantastic for a unit this small, it is easily the best quality for anything similar i've seen in the sub 2 hundred dollar range.
Cons: doesn't get super loud, so it may not fill the largest rooms. has only 1 aux imput, but i used piggyback audio cables to hook up both my TV and phono player.
Summary: I haven't used this for much other than a DVD player. I have only used it to listen to CD's or radio a few times so can't comment on those features.
Pros: The unit is small and relatively inexpensive. If you want an all in one this might be good for you.
Cons: After only a few weeks the DVD player started having problems. It will pause for several minutes when going from the DVD menu to playing the DVD content. It only happens on occasion but when it does it is extremely annoying since the unit will not respond while it is "paused".
Summary: I was also able to program the Comcast remote to control this with ease because those brilliant minds at JVC stuck with 1 IR code.
Pros: My girlfriend wanted a small HTIB type system that didn't take over the room. That is exactly what this is. It seems very nicely made/designed and has above average sound quality. Tempted to give a 4 rating overall, but the amazing $price$ point took it to a 5!
Cons: remote is larger than expected but VERY full featured.
Summary: Added a better antenna and life is good. Will probably add a small sub-woofer in the future (depending on office). Excellent bang for $$$ compared to many similar systems - especially w/ video out. If it is on sale - don't hesitate to get it.
Pros: - Small - Runs pretty cool - Decent sound - DVD out options are excellent - Quiet (no mechanical noise while spinning media) - Pretty easy to setup/program - Excellent manual and accessories (except for antenna) - Easy to disassemble (looked under the covers just for kicks) - Nice display, not ob...
Cons: - I bought it right before it went on sale... - So-so tuner strength. - Speakers sound decent for their size, but certainly heard better. - Headphone jack behind the flip down drive door?!?! - Remote is a bit busy, but once accustomed to it not to bad to use.
Summary: Currently, it is wired through my Dell 2405FP 24" monitor through the component inputs and acts as my primary DVD player (no need to turn on the computer). The next best thing would have been to integrate RF into the remote instead of just standard IR.
Pros: The build quality on this unit is excellent - solid with nice variety of inputs and outputs. The sound and picture is crisp and the system is clearly, hands down, the best looking low profile executive system in the market today.
Cons: The output power is somewhat low compared to my old Sony system (vocal quality is crisp but bass quality is non-existent). However, adding ANY DECENT powered subwoofer to this set will make it perform like a pure dream. This is my best home entertainment purchase ever. With regards to the system ...
