Once I learn the process in doing it from making the CD's been great. I am so happy to have this machine so.

It was a miracle to get this machine. I like idea to be able be use for my mac and pc computer. That is great idea. Since it take a little of time to the steps to set everything up, now it up and running great as well. THE SOUND iS GREAT !!!
Summary: Well this Ion Tape 2 PC Dual Cassette Deck is a powerful addition to any home audio system. There are three functions available: Tape to Tape dubbing, PC to Cassette and Cassette to PC. I downloaded the software no problem. I tested out the transfer of cassette tape to PC MP3 file or ITunes file. I had to download ITunes. The only problem I ran into was no sound on playback.
Summary: Being in the music business for the last 30 years I've accumulated tons of cassettes of recording sessions and albums I've played on. Also some precious family memories that are just priceless. Great to finally have an easy practical way to digitize these and preserve them. This deck looks just like decks from "the cassette era" ... so the controls are familiar. Easy connect to my laptop - I use Audacity but the included software is a breeze to use.
Summary: I was not aware that you have to install I tunes in order to use the tape deck. It was a little confusing at first but we have mastered the dubbing tape process. Our intent was to salvage some old cassette tapes before they deteriorated. The USB port simplified a process of storing older music.
Summary: I was really skeptical about MP3 conversion, as I'd tried to Jerry-rig some gear years ago and the sound was horrible. Anyway, it's hard to beat this deck for the price. I'm running Windows 7, so I had to do a quick download from the Ion website for an update. I was stuck on the start-up page of the software, but a reboot after the software install AND tweaking the Sound and Hardware in Control Panel did the fix. My first MP3 sounded great!
Summary: The tape deck records the song to your computer but there are some simple issues I had a problem with. First the cons; The gain control is in the back so you need to keep the unit somewhat in the open so that you can adjust it. The program had a problem installing a update for stereo sound. I had to search a little for it before I could get it to work. Lastly the program should separate between tracks and it doesn't.
