Excerpt: I have always kept a stereo in my bedroom to be able to listen to when everyone else is watching television in the front room. Recently the cd player stopped working. My husband came back from Walmart one day with a fairly small box. It was the GPX Home Stereo System. I could not believe something so small was going to be any good. To my surprise, when we got the speakers hooked up, which was very simple, it had the best sound.
Summary: I am currently using this as an amp for a completely different set of speakers and it serves its purpose. The product and the speakers themselves work like they should, but the quality of sound leaves much to be desired. Go with something else if you like audio quality.
Summary: Not sure we are keeping this. Were wanting something we could control with the remote. The remote works great for on/off and CDs but the radio (which is what will be used most on this) has a manual tuner. This stereo was meant for the garage/shop and hoped to put it up and out of the way. Manual tuning limits how far out of the way we can put it.
Summary: This was a good price... However, we got it set up and it skipped from the first time we played it. We took it back to the store for a refund. We purchased another mini stereo system. The product is an "ONN" brand. It was the same priced and has worked like a charm. I would not try my luck again with the GPX HC208B System.
Summary: The size of this unit is perfect for my bedroom. I hold a degree in audio/video technology and I am quite pleased with the performance. Some said that the display is too bright, but I have no problem and I am a very light sleeper. The bass lacks a little, but I did now purchase if for studio work. I really like the sleep function.
