Summary: The Denon S-52 is the most unbelievable Clock Radio of all time. Internet Radio, HDRadio, CD, iPod, USB, Aux input, & WiFi this has it all and it sounds awesome for a Clock Radio. A Sub Woofer out, but not necessary. A bit difficult in setting up the WiFi (as in most WiFi things) and the Bit-Rate would be nice. Clock Radio should allow the alternate (2, 3, etc) HDRadio channels for wake-up, but all in all, nobody else touches this.
Summary: I've more then happy with my denon s-52. i had to purchase a $5 ethetnet cord so i could upgrade its programming software. The operating manul is not the easiest to follow but can be understood with effort.
Summary: This product exceeded my expectations. Here are details not highlighted in the product info: A) Sound quality I compared it with a friend to his Bose Wave system. We both prefered Denon, which had richer bass and fuller range. Both systems created an impressive stereophonic spread throughout the room if placed in the right position. Denon also compared favorably to Tivoli Radio (but Tivoli is mono).
Summary: This product is great but it suffers from being version 1. The firmware that runs the product still need a lot of work to be more user friendly. There are a lot of undocumented features that may exists. There is a web interface on the system but no documentation of it. I still gave it 5 stars since the sound is great size very nice. Still planing on getting a second one for our bedroom.
Summary: I am definitely not an early adopter of new technologies. I purchased an IPod only a few months ago. However, what attracted me to the new Denon S52 is the idea of being able to listen to radio stations from around the world. As a young man, I loved staying up all night trying to pull in shortwave tropical band broadcasts. The second reason why I found the Denon to be so attractive is that I could dock my IPod to the receiver.
Summary: I wanted to buy the most versatile DAB / internet radio and this Denon semed perfect as it ticked all the boxes. The DAB reception is very good and I bought a better screw in metal antennae from Maplins to replace the wire supplied. CD's are just like being in the concert hall... The only snag is setting up the internet radio part to connect via wifi, the manual does not cover this in great detail, I had to phone tech support numerous times and finally had to get an IT /...
