It enables user to connect and play entire music library from CDs, MP3s, and Satellite/HD Radio and Internet radio by just connect it to home network or directly from the computer. It is built with an iPod dock as well for direct play from iPod music files.
The S-52 streams music wirelessly from MACs and PCs, Internet Radio and Network Attached Storage. The USB port adds the use of USB hard drives and the ability to play music from USB memory sticks and MP3 players. The 52 can decode not just popular MP3 and WMA formats but also AAC, m4a, WAV and FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec). A 3.5mm input on the front panel caters for other portables. In addition to the powerful network and streaming features, there is DAB and FM/AM Radio, a built-in CD/MP3/WMA Player and concealed on the top panel is an iPod dock, ready to take all 3G+ iPods including the latest Classic, Nano and Touch. The S-52DAB delivers room filling levels of crisp, clean sound with remarkably powerful bass. The key is the ‘Blackfin’ DSP from Analog Devices and exclusive Audyssey technology, Bass XT, Dynamic EQ and Spatial EQ. A significant share of the impressive sound quality is also attributable to Hi-fi oriented design and sophisticated speakers. Each of the separate speaker houses a powerful 70 mm long-stroke driver, supported by an additional 80 mm passive radiator, which is integrated into the bottom of the cabinet. Together these produces amazingly full-bodied, mature sound from the compact cabinet.
