Summary: Exactly what I was searching for. I needed a replacement for my kitchen sound system which recently decided to walk the spirit trail. I had no idea what to buy but a friend of mine, who is REALLY into sound systems, recommended the Denon to me. I have had three sound systems in the past 12 years and I won't mention the names of the others but one was a highly respected - and expensive - name. This Denon makes them all seen like old transistor radios from the '60s!
Summary: i wanred a full size stereo at first, but really didnt have the money, then i decided to buy this denon mini system and i am totally happy with the full stereo sound . i added a subwoofer and it sounds great.
Pros: sounds great, you can hook it up to the tv or ipad, listen to fm radio or cds . does everything a full stereo does for a fraction of the price
Cons: wished it had a surround sound speaker feature
Summary: I have only had this system a few weeks, and I bought it for the specific purpose of using with a turntable. I wanted something small and simple with nice sound, and it has delivered. The reason for four stars is no phono stage. If this system had a a phono stage (especially with the current vinyl bubble), it would be perfect!
Summary: I didn't want to comment on this system until I had it for a while. Well it has been about 1 month now and the sound just gets better every time. When I first pulled it out of the box the high's(treble) were a little compressed but now they are starting to open up. The Bass is deep and not boomy, but this depends a lot on speaker placemen and of course volume.
Pros: Nice controls Easy to use remote control Compact Well Made, great quality Sounds great
Cons: Lacks AM radio Can be harsh at times No AC outlet in back only one set of RCA input plugs
Summary: Very happy with this small system: Great sound, solid construction, pleasant-to-the-eye design. I use the digital input for the output from my laptop, so no background hum from the other components inside the laptop (unlike the headphones port which does occasionally emit some noise.) With my music library encoded info .flac files (lossless compression for CD level quality) this little Denon really does a great job.
Summary: The Denon is an amazing system for the money. It has a good FM receiver, CD player, and amplifier in a quality metal casing. It has inputs for one digital input, one USB port (for ipads and the like), and one analog input (a pair of stereo RCA plugs). The components are definitely Hi-Fi, producing a very clean and crisp sound that far exceeds the quality of boom-boxes of similar size.
Great Looking, Decent Sounding. A little to much $$

Summary: I'm still getting to know the system so I'll try to update this review as time goes by. This unit fits a certain need; size, look, and function. It is nice and compact and it doesn't draw attention to itself. It works like a champ too. The sound quality I would describe as very detailed in the midrange with gentle high and and a very decent low end, especially for the size. Modern recordings sound great on it but older recordings can sound a bit muffled.
Great sound. Flexible system. Compact. And if the previous system is any indication, Longevity

Summary: I had an earlier model for approximately 15 years. My cousin recently bought a new house so I decided to buy him one for a house warming gift. The new model has iPod control and worked with my iPhone 5 and older iPod Touch. A few weeks later the CD tray on my 15 year old model stopped working so I decided to buy a myself a current model. Having the iPod attached to it and using my iPad or iPhone to remotely control the iPod is awesome.
