Summary: Love it. Great sound, it's more than enough for large rooms I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a great sounding shelf system. FM radio sounds great but a little difficult to program, but once set up it's awesome.
Summary: this unit was out of stock so i was shipped the newer 39S. Teh 39s is well built and designed. the sound from the brown burr DAC is clear and sweet. The speakers are surprising ly good for their size although i am using Polk T15 speakers because I had then there and give a litttle more bass.
Summary: This is a super mini bookshelf system that really gives you that big sound that the rest just can't deliver, dual amplifier stage for that extra kick in the pants, has all the apps you'll need for the 30 watt speakers that come with / Very attractive good looking unit all around / Try One /
Summary: IMHO, its just plain fantastic and has no right to be as good as it is for its cost! This Denon DM-38 S with factory speakers replaces the separates I had from well known respected mfg's., which took up to much space in my living room. Is this little Denon comparable?
Summary: In short - buy the Denon DM38. I have the Bose Wave Radio / CD Player but wanted something with more power and clarity. After researching "bookshelf" units, I purchased the Denon DM38. I am so glad that I did.
Summary: I love the little Denon D-M38. Not having owned a real Hi-Fi system before, the $400 was a bit steep, but I'm pretty happy with my choice. I'll try to provide some pros and cons I've noticed. See "Other Notes" for some important information as well.
Summary: Actually, I own the DM37S but it's the same except for the USB port. I owned a very similar Yamaha product prior to this that had more capability but its speakers were inferior and the remote was a marvel of confused thinking.
Summary: Pros: Small, clear, good robust energy to music. I've listened to this 12 hours non stop and do not get ear fatigue from it. Incredible! Sounds incredible with good headphones too. Can connect a subwoofer. Can replace speakers (but I won't).
