Summary: Spent several weeks researching my needs which were that the unit had to be have a relatively small footprint, be capable of playing CDs, MP3 and have a FM radio. I am very pleased that this unit filled the bill on all fronts. we use the unit in an open living/dining area and the sound is terriffic. It was easy to set up as well. Bottom line is that I am very happy with this purchase.
Summary: I was quite happy when I received this system. When it came down to it, I was motivated by space requirements when choosing a new system for a secondary room. I did not have room for a full size receiver. The build quality appears to very nice. The remote has great range and is very functional. The auto tuner preset function was also very handy for setting up the preset stations.
Summary: I ordered the DM38S last week for a party I was having this Saturday in my apt and I am very pleased with my purchase. The size was exactly what I wanted: Very compact. I was mostly impressed with the Sound. It is excellent. I have tried with different kind of music and I loved it! If I didn't give a 5th star it is because the only thing I don't like is the Remote Control.
Summary: This is a great little system, have it paired with some bose cubes and it really shines in the dining room. Love the Ipod hook up, easy to use and keeps the ipod charged up. Sounds better than compared to a JVC boom box and Harmon K Boom Box, although could be the bose speakers. Has a good heavy weight to it, not like some other small shelf brands.
Summary: I wanted a bookshelf system for my kitchen with CD player, decent radio, and iPod and auxiliary inputs. The DM-38 delivers all this with a striking elegance of design that makes my engineer heart happy just to look at it. I like it so much that I'm ordering a second unit for my office. There's no need to buy an iPod dock. I connect my iPod Touch 32G (third generation) to the USB port. I can operate the iPod in either of two modes.
Summary: Nice quality sound and construction. USB digital input for ipod with charging too was great. Slightly confusing that different generations of ipod and iphone had different levels of control via remote through the USB, very old (3rd gen) not even recognised!
