Summary: Yes, this Utility software will function with 8.1 Windows (HP Laptop), but is not as effective in cleaning the operating system as other "aggressive" software tools (maybe for the better .... could crash system otherwise).
Summary: I use Windows 8.1 64 bit as a virtual system using the Linux Mint Operating System LTS which is based on Ubuntu 12.04. I wanted to cleanup Windows 8.1 as I detected some registry problems wherein I did not want to do much more manual editing than I had.

Summary: Does not correct all of the issues. For the price this is good software to fix basic system issues. I have found that the software does not clean history thoroughly. I have had to do that manually in order to clean out all of history and temporary files.
