Summary: Just ordered Norton 360 today from newegg. Have to think about if I'm going to install it when it arrives. There is a lot of "guidelines" to leaving comments.
Pros: Great antivirus until you try uninstalling it.
Cons: My year has passed and decided to uninstall. Big mistake. After uninstalling norton my windows 7 pro was no longer a valid copy. Calling Microsoft was a waist of 31 minutes. Trying to fix online was a waist of time. Thankfully system restore fixed my windows.
Cons: Bought it because it was free. Thought I could pick and choose what modules I install, but that was not to be. Rebate card got messed up by kid at a gas station and I have been spending weeks trying to fix it with Norton. I will never purchase a Norton product again!
Summary: I used to run Malwarebyes and Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) together for my antivirus protection, and Comodo Firewall (free software firewall) for my intrusion detection. Norton doesn't like MSE running alongside it, but I've kept it anyway and turned off its schedule, manually performing the...
Pros: Decent antivirus for three computers (if you get it for free via rebates), and the process monitor plus firewall protection is nice. Maybe its my conservative surfing, but I never see a virus alert from Norton. The only alerts I see are "Waring High CPU Use by <insert process name here>". I have ...
Cons: I jumped back on the Norton bandwagon in 2010 when it was no longer considered a resource hog (and it's not). However, I've noticed a handful of times over the years that a scan with Microsoft Security Essentials will find problems that Norton doesn't. This isn't always the case, but if Norton is...
Summary: If they correct the two issues I noted above I would give it a five!
Pros: Great security as usual while using minimal overhead. Early testing shows that it's near or at the top in security tests.
Cons: Identity safe storage is now on the cloud instead of locally. With an upgrade you can keep it for now but with a clean install the cloud is mandatory. The toolbar has also gotten huge with unneeded information such as a share button for Facebook! They certainly didn't listen to customer feedback ...
Summary: it is a decent enough program but if already have this program installed and you buy this for a yearly re-subscription (like i did) be sure to wait for your subscription to run out before applying the code because you will loose any extra time you may have had.
Parole, parole, parole....
