Summary: Just ordered Norton 360 today from newegg. Have to think about if I'm going to install it when it arrives. There is a lot of "guidelines" to leaving comments.
Pros: Great antivirus until you try uninstalling it.
Cons: My year has passed and decided to uninstall. Big mistake. After uninstalling norton my windows 7 pro was no longer a valid copy. Calling Microsoft was a waist of 31 minutes. Trying to fix online was a waist of time. Thankfully system restore fixed my windows.
Cons: Bought it because it was free. Thought I could pick and choose what modules I install, but that was not to be. Rebate card got messed up by kid at a gas station and I have been spending weeks trying to fix it with Norton. I will never purchase a Norton product again!
Summary: I didn't use the install CD that came with the package because I wanted the latest build, so I downloaded NIS from Norton site. Installed/verified fine with the key code.
Pros: 1) Ease of installation; default settings are "perfect," though one can tweak a lot. 2) Minimum system resource usage. 3) Free after Rebate; and received rebate card in 3 weeks. 4) Did I say "FAR!!!" Can't beat that!
Cons: None that I can think of. Not really a "Con," but the install didn't like my Malwarebytes program (asked to uninstall it). Malwarebytes forum assured there isn't any conflict. I Clicked the go ahead to install NIS and no problems at all.
Pros: Have always been a norton hater in the past. However after reading a ton of materials (reviews, comp tests, etc.) decided to give it a try. Have been a die hard Kaspersky user over the past few years but couldn't be happier with this product. Client is easy to use, excellent aestetics and runs smo...
Summary: I had Norton 2 years ago , no issues , this edition I just want to scream. But , hey, thank you for UNINSTALL button.
Pros: I got it with rebate , so it was free, which proves the sentence that everything free is not always a good deal.
Cons: Where to start? Ahhh,, my Google browser totally busted, my "protection period" is constantly stopped and questioned. I also got the WinZip with it same issue.."you do not have a valid license" etc etc .. I am sick tired of this program . You can not kill it with right click but need to go into m...
Summary: Not a knock against the product itself, but you may want to get the downloadable version of this. Newegg decided to throw the boxed software into a bubble envelope. It arrived almost completely destroyed inside. The CD and paperwork were unharmed, but it's something to think about.
Pros: Historically suites like this have been cumbersome and bloated. Symantec however has completely redesigned their Internet Security product to run lean, fast, and efficient. If you'd told me 2-3 years ago that I'd be saying this about any security suite (let alone Symantec) I'd have laughed in you...
Summary: You'd expect a big company like Symantec to be up to date. They're not.
Pros: It locks down your computer and prevents attacks.
Cons: Installed Windows 8.1 and Norton wouldn't work. Contacted Tech Support and they said since Win 8.1 is in a "preview" mode that they couldn't guarantee it would work. They insisted I install their Beta version. They didn't tell me that I'd have to pay for a new license.
Pros: Active software that scans incoming and outgoing information for suspicious activity and lets the user know if anything comes up that seems odd. Frequent virus definition updates and just an all around great antivirus platform.
