Excellent Protection!

Barbara H., Newegg
18 September 2009
  • Pros: The newest version of Norton is really terrific. They've addressed the problems they used to have with their software slowing down a system. No more. I've seen comments from people who don't agree, but unless you're running a system that is 6+ years old, you won't see any slowdowns from this soft...
  • Cons: It's currently out of stock at newegg :(

I like it!

Jeffrey P., Newegg
15 August 2009
  • Pros: I am using this product on a newer dual core athlon computer and an older single core sempron computer. I had been using Trend Micro Antivirus for several years and I noticed it was definitely starting to bog the older system down considerably. I decided to switch to Norton Antivirus and now the ...

User Review

  • Summary: It seems like a lot of people haven't really use Norton IS 2009 and just start writing negative reviews based on their experience with older versions of Norton. Reading some of the reviews here on Newegg, it seems like some people are just here to bash Symantec and promote their own shady...
  • Pros: Norton is now low on resources (unlike older versions). Norton takes up zero % of my cpu resource while in the background and only about 2-9% while running a full scan. Nice looking interface. Better than free anti-virus because this has firewall. Firewall is much better than windows firewall tha...

Very Impressed

Anonymous, Newegg
2 August 2009
  • Summary: I wanted to give this Software a chance, in that the reviews I read, (both here on Newegg, and other sources), were really very good. I had a subscription to a competitor that was soon to expire, (a good competitor), but wanted to try this out.
  • Pros: Runs very quietly and smoothly in the background, and does not seem to be a resource hog. Very easy to set up and run. Does not make me wait for a minute at boot up to "load and update". I like the very well laid out Graphical interface for this, and after doing a lot of research, this software c...
  • Cons: It runs so smoothly that I wonder if it is actually there? How "unNortonlike".

Best Antivirus outthere!!!

Mr. D., Newegg
14 July 2009
  • Pros: If you need a good protection get this one! I work with NIS for several years, install them on my customers PC and very few problem/ virus. Most of the time if you get a virus with this guy it's because you disable it to access one of this crappie sites
  • Cons: This log in to your account is very annoying....

Fantastic Software

Anonymous, Newegg
11 July 2009
  • Summary: Windows 7 RC, Pentium 4 3.0 (2 Meg Cache, 800 FSB), ASUS P5N-EM HDMI motherboard, Power Color ATI Radeon X1600 Graphics, 2 Gigabytes of Kingston DDR2 1066, Western Digital 250 Gigabyte SATA2 hard drive, all in a Super Micro Server case with a BFG 450 watt power supply.
  • Pros: Very fast and doesn't take up much computing cycles. Loads faster than any other internet security I have used. It has settings for everything. Very nice software, I would recommend this to anyone.
  • Cons: Incompatible with Windows 7 RC. The advanced heuristics driver for the program won't load. We will soon see if it is compatible with Windows Vista Home Premium X64.

Good so far...

Todd F., Newegg
23 June 2009
  • Summary: I don't put Tech Knowledge as *High* anymore. Really, there's always SOMEONE who knows a heckuva lot more than anyone else on just about everything computer-related. I've been building systems since those halcyon 8088 days.
  • Pros: Very unobtrusive. I was a little hesitant to try Norton out again due to the past difficulties I'd had with uninstalling it and its' system overhead. But the reviews were generally positive so I took the plunge and so far I'm happy with it. We'll see if it's as good as the magazines claim. I've g...
  • Cons: It wasn't free, but it beats the heck out of buying one copy for each PC in my house.
