Summary: If you are constantly getting duped by Nigerian Royalty, then you need this product. If you understand how to scan your computer with AVG and cross-check the credibility of sites from which you download whatever you download, then you don't need this.
Pros: Nice color scheme on the CD. They probably pay their graphic designers a lot of money. Has a LOT of features.
Cons: It is very resource intensive and self-important. I say that because it would interrupt what I was doing at all random times telling me that I was not 110% secure. I installed it before I came to my senses and used AVG free. It is a resource hog and it is constantly trying to install all sorts of...
Pros: It's a super deal, if I could ever get it installed.
Cons: Where the heck did the information given on the product information tell me that I was not going to receive the product key?? Excuse me, but, after reading all the reviews, that's precisely what I thought I was getting. I expected seamless installation, but what I got is far, far from it. I talke...
Summary: Just really frustrated right now. Really Frustrated
Pros: The installer ran....yaaaay!
Cons: Uhhhh....anybody know where the product key is? For the first time in my life I get no product key that comes with my CD that I get in the mail. This is ridiculous. I run a computer repair business and this was for one of my customers, and lo and behold I lose money on a simple service because no...
Summary: I installed this on my computer nd it slows my computer down big time so i did research on it , even microsoft said antivirus slows your computer down. so people i would suggest save your money you really dont need ant-virus to protect you computer keeep it clean , dontinstall tolbaar and tuff when...
Pros: Proctects against Viruses, Microsoft Essential can do better though!
Cons: Norton Or any other anti virus Slows your computer big time, if you really want some security on your computer keep on updating your computer Microsoft automatically install a security software for you plus it does not slow your computer down!
Summary: Yeah I know I will get a ton of votes that this review wasn't helpful but it is for anyone who has been through the tribulations of using this company's solutions. I have used both their private and commercial softwares and my systems always got infected.
Pros: It's reasonably priced when a promo is ongoing, maybe it doesn't use as many resources as past versions but I wouldn't know. It's automated which many will like.
Cons: Very good chance it is bloated just like their past versions/suites and there are free alternatives that are just as good if not better. $50 vs Free, enough said.
Summary: Bought a copy of Norton AV 2010 from New Egg. Bought a copy of NAV 2011 from another vendor. I am unable to update virus definitions on NAV 2011. This is not a fault of vendor. The NAV 2011 disk was manufactured more than 6 months before I bought it.
Pros: Don't know
Cons: Can't update virus definitions (see other thoughts)
Summary: Get ESET NOD32, Avira, or Vipre if you want to pay for antivirus. Microsoft Security Essentials if you want something free. Malwarebytes is also very good. I remove viruses everyday for a living, and Norton, McAfee, and Trend Micro users make up most of those customers.
Pros: It makes you feel secure. Better than their old versions, which isn't saying much.
Cons: You aren't actually secure at all. Most every rogue antivirus and tons of rootkits get through this. It's pretty good at removing cookies though. Actually that's about all it is good for is removing cookies, which really aren't viruses at all just a way for web sites to know what you did at their...
Summary: I know I will never get my money back from Norton, but it would have been nice to atleast speak with someone who knew atleast something about the product they are suppose to be working for! This review has nothing to do with newegg. newegg has always been good to me with my purchases.
Cons: Disc would not read on my CD-ROM no matter what I tried. Customer service with Norton was a complete disaster! After waiting almost 2 hours on hold I finally spoke with a representative of Norton's from what I can only assume was their outsourced branch in the middle-east. This person had no idea...
