Summary: i have been using McAfee for years now and i havent had a problem with them that would cause me to switch products. Despite the cons, it does what it's supposed to which is to protect ur pc. Isnt that what we want?
Pros: does its job extremely well
Cons: it is very bulky and like the other guy said, its a resource hog
Summary: The firewall is hard to configure at moments when you have to update a game or something similar. Just updating world of warcraft took more effort than it should have. I had to turn off the firewall, even after granting it internet access.
Pros: Combines firewall, anti spy-ware and anti virus protection.....
Cons: Updates are not as "automatic" as you would expect. The updates which sometimes start when booting up your the computer cause major lag. Sometimes it says that its not fully protected, and makes you have to go into its control panel and "fix" the issue. Its overall protection is not worth the mone...
Pros: McAfee and Pro should never belong in the same sentence.
Cons: This thing uses so much memory it makes my games choppy when they usually are silky smooth, the menu takes forever to load, you have to restart your computer after updates, in process tree (ctrl+alt+del in windows) McAfee is host to 11 (yes, eleven) processes when other security products take up ...
Summary: GO SYMANTEC/NORTON, don't waste money on this, McAfee products always need something whether it be updates, some type of registration, or just to tell you it isn't doing its job. IT uses A LOT OF memory usage makes my 1 gig. of memory feel like 256mb
Pros: It TRIES to protect your computer
Cons: Always needs updates every 5 seconds, it says your computer is not protected because of some ignorant reason, Scans take forever, & when you set it for automatic(should mean I don't need to know about it) updates, the stupid thing asks you to install them
Excerpt: Mcafee have been out and about now for years, the package it's self is a very good one compared to most of the market. However although it does it's job, its very expensive compared to the mass of other packages available on the market and slows your machine down that much that you have to consider...
Excerpt: As a long time user of ZoneAlarm I was reluctant to try anything else as I had never had any problems with ZoneAlarm until Vista came along and then the clashes started. So, having had McAfee Virus Scan Plus 2008 recommended to me I decided to give it a try and I am fairly happy that I did.
A decent suite suitable for all bar the most discerning users

Excerpt: Mcafee Virusscan Plus 2008 is a good improvement on earlier versions of the product. It continues to use "the bootstrap method" of downloading code to your pc and then installing it module by module. The security centre is the first thing that is downloaded and modules are added to it depending on...
Excerpt: First excuse me for writing a lengthy review, but there are a lot of ground to cover. For those who like the short version, with less information is here: Norton slowed my DSL connection by a third party.
Excerpt: A really good product. McAfee excels in the antivirus market. This product offers six in one solution, not only will it look after the PC's security needs. It will do things like defrag your hard disk. Which is required I do it once every three months to keep the hard disk in tip top shape.
