Pros: I dont want to judge this software itself, please see cons
Cons: Tried many anti-virus/security/all-in-one software with rebate, this mcxfee is the first one giving me funny trouble about rebate. It states "my UPC is missing in the envelop" which I 200% sure I put it in, and one more, ridiculously told me my address "did not pass USPS address standards". I have been printing my address, not hand writing, for like 10 years for selling/returning/buying things. YOU ARE KIDDING ME, please give me a better excuse. I wont look at this co...
Pros: Like the previous reviewer Ali C. I was surprised to see that this McAfee product does not appear to be the resource hog that it definitely was in the past. I had switched over to Norton because it was "lighter" but this is much improved from where is stood years ago.
Cons: A bit of hassle getting the initial install going since it did not like that I keep my default browser cookies disabled.
Summary: i think internet protection these days are way over priced,it was nice to get this one on sale
Pros: i just restored an old pc and wasnt sure what protection to get for it. mcafee was on sale and the name has been around for many years so i got it, it doesnt use much resources when monitoring, only around 27mb of ram is all,web surfing slowed just a tiny bit but that is to be expected when monitoring,i really miss the older graphic interface of years past, there was so much color and cool icons to click on,now everything is so bland and practically no interface as ever...
Cons: none really,i guess the bland colorless graphic interface without the cool icons
Pros: it runs and does a fairly decent job at viruses see cons
Cons: the product implies that it is total protection for your computer although what I incorrectly assumed is that it would protect from everything including malware which it does not. All I had was simple adware on my computer known as quiknowledge and it couldn't even detect it was adware. however malwarebytes free version managed to detect and remove. hence the 2 eggs
Summary: Preferably use a tracking number for postal mail. That way you can give the rebate folks the proof that you had posted and it was delivered. PLEASE REMEMBER TO TAKE A COPY OF EACH DOCUMENT YOU MAIL via post and keep those copies safely till you actually receive your rebate. This comes very handy if a situation like mine arises where the rebate folks claim that they have never received the original copies.
Pros: 5 stars to Newegg for the BEST VALUE.......but........
Cons: I was FRUSTRATED with so called McAfee rebate folks. Although each of the rebate customer care were courteous and patient, it was only after constant follow up I got rewarded. It was much better last 2 times I brought it. But this time they never seem to have got the original documentation via postal mail although the tracking number of USPS showed that it was delivered. Later I was asked to fax the documentation 2 times with different customer care. I even emailed th...
Summary: If you have used McAfee in the past and ditched them because there software was a major resource hog I recommend giving them another shot. I went out on a limb purchasing McAfee AV over what I normally go with an couldn't be happier with my choice. I will be using McAfee on all my systems!
Pros: -Great features in the AV suite and they are all very easy to use.
Cons: None, have been very pleased with this product from McAfee!
