McAfee Internet Security 4.0
Excerpt: Though it includes many strong features, its clumsy interface, control shortcomings, and instability prevent McAfee Internet Security 4.0 from earning our wholehearted endorsement. In addition to McAfee Firewall 3.0, this suite includes McAfee VirusScan 6, parental filtering, ad blocking, a shredder, and several privacy tools, such as a cookie blocker. McAfee focuses on ease of use and a simple, streamlined process for the first-timer.
Conclusion: McAfee Internet Security combines an excellent antivirus tool with a good firewall and so-so antispam module. Unless you've already chosen one or more standalone utilities from McAfee, we'd recommend Norton Internet Security 2005 instead.
Pros: Excellent antivirus features. Firewall traces intrusions on a world map. Parental control can limit each user's access times.
Cons: Firewall won't protect against "leak test" attacks, antispam accuracy is still not great. Parental-control accounts are separate from Windows log on.
Excerpt: Antispyware tools are just one part of McAfee Internet Security 2004, a comprehensive suite that includes an antivirus scanner, antispam capabilities, a personal firewall, and more. Excerpt: Network Associates Technology's McAfee Internet Security 5.0 is a suite of products that contains not only McAfee Firewall 4.0 ($29.99 alone) but also McAfee VirusScan Home Edition 7, the company's antivirus application, and a host of other useful tools, including an ad blocker, parental controls, a cookie filter, and a browsing-history shredder. The suite is more comprehensive than Symantec's Norton Internet Security 2003 but not as easy to use.
Langsam aber sicher: McAfee Internet Security Suite 2006
21 November 2005
