Summary: I'm sure the sort of irritating behavior listed above is about par for antivirus software but I don't really see why consumers should have to put up with it. If people stop letting obnoxious software walk all over them, perhaps we'll get a more pleasant computing experience.
Pros: Comes free with many computers you might have an interest in buying. Haven't had any viruses on any of the computers I've used it on but it did let some nasty malware through.
Cons: Incessant nagging about this, that, or the other. Always demanding attention. Seems to want to reboot way more often than necessary. If malware hadn't disabled my trackpad on another computer once (one without McAfee), I'd rate this actually worse than what it's supposed to prevent. At some point...
Pros: Got it for $40 less by waiting out the ongoing spam emails from them.
Cons: Mcafee AV came with my dell laptop a few years ago It expired. I waited for the priced offered in the spam email to drop then, I bought a new subscription. Summary: Don't buy McAfee, Norton or store bought, get Avira it has been amazing.
Cons: McAfee touts its product as one of the best anti-virus programs available but when a virus came my computers way it chewed McAfee up an spit it out.
