Best there is

Anonymous, Newegg

  • Summary: I have been testing the 2110 verson since June and before it was released in the USA. Sometimes it will hang up my Internet Explorer. They need to fix that bug.
  • Pros: I think it is the best thing out there since I have been using Kaspersky to clean up computers with those other virus progams for 8 years.
  • Cons: They do not tell you when a new version comes out and they are free to you as long as your time is not expired. Sometimes they will replace the program 4 times a year or more.

Sweet!

Christopher P., Newegg

  • Summary: Until you set up all your program exemptions and allowances it will annoy you a bit with the all prompts for for program access.
  • Pros: I love Kaspersky products, this security suite is very comprehensive! The part I love is that it can run without 'bogging' down your computer!
  • Cons: I honestly have a hard time thinking of any for this product....

Newegg is great

  • Summary: I shop other stores. Circut City Online, Tiger Direct, Best Buy. None of them can beat NewEgg for pricing.
  • Pros: Great price. Ordered 7/21. Arrived 7/25
  • Cons: Absolutely none

The Best Available

David M., Newegg
21 July 2009
  • Summary: These NewEgg prices are unbeatable!
  • Pros: Virus Signature Database and detection is the best. I have multiple computers with different Anti-Virus on each, and every risky download (Torrent, Warez) gets scanned by each with Kaspersky all alone on the catch all list. Configuration is simpler than any I have tried. Have never encountered so...

Ignore the bad reviews, or at least research it further.

  • Summary: After advocating free for many a year, I came to the conclusion that free anti-virus was just not worth the risk. Running beautifully on XP pro/Core Duo 2.4/4gb RAM
  • Pros: Full Suite of protection. This took the place a several free programs. Runs well, doesn't suck my processes, have not had any issues. It WILL catch things other free anti-virus programs miss.
  • Cons: A little complicated on the install, but considering all it does, I can live with it. Notifications and such can be annoying, but it learns quickly. If you aren't techy, invite your nearest geek over for dinner and ask them to install it for you. (note: GeekSquad does not neccesarilly=geek)

This does it all, with low resources

Michael G., Newegg
15 July 2009
  • Summary: If you dig on manufactures web site you will find a link to download version KIS 2010. Your KIS 2009 license will also work for KIS 2010. KIS 2010 also includes more protections, including a safe mode. It basically runs any program you choose in its own bubble of space.
  • Pros: I have been in the IT consulting business for over 13 years and this is the best solution on the market currently. It has it all and more. Just used it on a Corp edition Norton pc that was not getting fixed, hooked up that HDD externally to a PC that had AVG on it and got that pc infected. Hooked...
  • Cons: Does not have something like AVG’s link scanner for search engines. But you are protected, just would be nice to have a red flag next to bad links.

Great

Nick M., Newegg
2 April 2009
  • Summary: Well my mother's computer suffered a complete virus blowup, so many infections that there was no way to recover XP Pro, and that was WITH AVG Free installed. We took the opportunity to get her a faster computer and I bought a 3 license copy of Kaspersky.
  • Pros: Catches stuff free AV's will not, lets you decide how much control you want, works great on 3 computers (older PC with XP Pro, newer PC with XP Pro, and latest and greatest hardware with Vista Home 64). Has caught trojans loaded on ads on websites using Firefox or IE. I have been 100% impressed s...
  • Cons: It can be difficult to setup at first. There are a lot of options during setup that determines how Kaspersky acts after installed. My Vista PC runs with the automatic settings which has caught everything so far. I also run another PC with the "Ask about everything" setting and it is really only a...

Very Pleased

Laurence C., Newegg
16 March 2009
  • Summary: I was a loyal fan/user of ZoneAlarm for many years. I started out with the free firewall and upgraded to the full protection suite about four years ago. In the last two years, I was having many issues with the way ZoneAlarm tried new features from its partners in the suite that were implemented and...
  • Pros: Works great and has low system load. Very pleased with the way it protects.
  • Cons: None so far.

Best yet

Anonymous, Newegg
26 February 2009
  • Summary: I've used Norton, McAffee, AVG and Trend Micro before this and after running Kaspersky for over 4 months I can honestly say this is hands down the best I've EVER used. Look at your process explorer and you'll find it uses a very low amount of system resources while instantaneously detecting, and in...
  • Pros: Amazing product. Running over 4 months on Vista 64 Ultimate without a hitch or previously mentioned BSODs. (Some people should check their builds!) I have yet to come across a virus/trojan/malware that this has not been able to remove when installing on an already infected machine. Hourly updates...
  • Cons: Most people look at you funny when you tell them the name. Interface can take some getting used to, especially when coming from other I.S. suites. Check and adjust your settings carefully. Pop-ups can be annoying if you do not have your settings adjusted properly (esp. the Firewall settings).

The Best There Is.

Anonymous, Newegg
23 February 2009
  • Summary: I have used many antiviris software out there and Kasperski makes the rest look like clowns. If you want something that does a great job and stays out of your way, look no further. I have been using kasperski for a couple years and very happy.
  • Pros: It protects my computer without bothering me or slowing down my computer. It is far more advanced than other internet security suites. It even has a self defense against viris trying to disable it. Very nice software. Let's me concentrate on my work and getting things done.
  • Cons: none
