Pros: Honestly, I'm having a hard time coming up with any positives. It does do the job as anti-spyware, but that is about it.
Cons: Boot lock-up is still a MAJOR issue in Jan 2010. Minor boot issues almost every time. Program locks-up post boot several times a week. The anti-spam feature randomly dissapears from Outlook Settings are cumbersome/difficult to navigate.
Pros: Highly recommended by Geeks at Best Buy, seems to scan my computer fast.
Cons: It's like having to have an auto-mechanic with you each time you drive your car, in order to adjust the gap on your spark plugs, check for vacuum leaks and diagnose code. Who wants to own a car (or a software program) that is difficult to use?
Summary: I saw an advertisement and decided to install KIS 2009. I realized very big slow down in work and system startup was a nightmare. I also think that this version is really paranoic about threats and malware in nearly everything (false positives). My clean computer with XP SP3 (2Gb RAM, Intel 2GHz) worked very well before it. :( I switched to well-known vendor and have no problems.
