Summary: I've bought several subscriptions of KAV over the past several years; it always seems to do the job well and has not put a huge drain on my system resources. I'm happy to keep buying and using Kaspersky products.
Pros: Good default options; ample customization, if desired. Nice GUI.
Cons: Infrequent "hits"... either a result of safe browser habits or course-grained default security filter? What I don't know can't hurt me, I suppose... so I can't really consider this a real "con".
Summary: It has been a long time since I have actually paid for Kaspersky. I can thank Newegg/Kaspersky for this. I always purchase mine when they put it on their weekly sale of AV's. For instance this last purchase, regular price is $50, was on sale for $40 and FREE shipping.
Pros: Having been in the IT career field for 15 years I can safely and whole-heartedly say that Kaspersky is a no-brainer when it comes time to get an anti-virus. For the first few years of buying AV's I had the same as everyone else did (Norton), but still yet i ended up getting a virus eventually. Af...
Pros: price and several reviews showed it good product. Install was ok.
Cons: Installed appeared to work fine. Dell 760 running XP Pro. Started getting IP address conflicts after several days. Removed after several weeks and replaced with other product, problem disappeared.
Summary: Please note that this review is only about Kaspersky's customer support and not on the software itself. Personally I see this as a whole as they advertise their tech support as one of the product's features. I gave it two eggs because I still think the software itself is good.
Summary: Too bad some don't even use the product, yet try to review it; don't be fooled. Kaspersky is a top tier AV. I've installed every brand of AV on client machines (including free ones, which are fairly good), but Kaspersky has few security holes. Hey, we want good protection.
Pros: Strong protection Frequent Updates Fairly fast scan
Summary: Try another brand. I went to Bitdefender, and now my system takes minutes every time I boot, before actually coming all the way up.
Pros: Installed easily and seemed to do the job...
Cons: On trying to UNINSTALL 2013's version, my system was rendered unable to boot with mouse and keyboard active. I had used the ubninstall from the Programs menu, and it went without a hitch. Then upon reboot, no keyboard or mouse. They work befor the login shows up, and I am NOT ALONE with this prob...
