Acts like beta software, useless tech support.

Summary: In my 32 years in IT I've never seen a beta of any software with this many problems, much less something being sold to the public as a solution. When I clean an old machine without antivirus or sell a new machine, I want to install an antivirus solution and get it back to the customer, not spend several hours configuring it to work with whatever programs might fight it and pray that I got them all.
Pros: Inexpensive when on sale every couple weeks. They have a great uninstall tool even though it takes forever to complete. Always remember to use an antivirus' uninstall tool before installing a new antivirus solution.
Cons: I purchased several licenses and initial testing went well with some speed bumps, such as Ccleaner locking up the machine when set for secure deletion of temp files. Just add Ccleaner to the exceptions list in bitdefender and it will work fine. When I started putting it on customers' PC's is when I began to see that 3 out of 4 machines began experiencing all sorts of weird problems from slowing to a crawl, locking up programs, blocking FTP access, and on one the inabi...
Summary: AVG and Avast have always worked for me. No more bargain AV's even if they are highly rated. I had previously used BitDefender some time in the past and it worked good then.
Pros: It was only $7.99. It was by download so I got it fast. Two years and 3 computers! It went on simple, smooth and looked real pretty.
Cons: The fist time I put it on was with a clean install after formatting and installing Win7. After installation, all hell broke out. The computer basically froze and would not shut down normally. I reformatted, reinstalled Windows 7 and added the anti-virus! Every shortcut or Icon on the computer linked to Microsoft Word. I tried remaking shortcuts but no matter what, they turned into MS Word links. The only way to access any program on the computer was to go into file ma...
Terrible first impression. Will destroy your hardware only by trying to install. Caused several BSODs!

Summary: Based on the accolades of this product from many credible sources I was expecting a whole different experience. Apparently this product was not properly tested and was not ready to be launched to the market. Some products are just bad and you can just live with that, but this is a threat to your hardware investment. I'm seriously disputing this purchase with newegg, which I'm sure they will be responsive as per my previous experience.
Pros: None that I was able to notice
Cons: Simply won't install on a Windows 7 machine. Installation freezes the OS. This is not typical with any other software I run in my rig After researching possible solutions in the web (including an offline install), freezing was overcome only to face terrible blue screens Based on my research I'm not the only one facing this issue. Based on the timestamps of the responses from BitDefender tech support, their response is slow, unclear and unfriendly Based on my research,...
