Bitdefender Internet Security 2014
Phillip B., Newegg
12 September 2014
Pros: It works OK
Cons: When the product renewal comes up, make sure you cancel before your final 30 days. It is a major task to get your money back from these people. As I understand the company is in Romania and I have never been able to talk to someone at the company to resolve this issue. Finally had to call my cred...
Summary: I have used Bitdefender free edition and it was great. So I figured hey, the paid version MUST be better, right? And for the ridiculously low price I paid for 3 PC's and two years, how could I go wrong? I have now had to uninstall on two of those machines.
Pros: Cheap - not their regular price, but I got it on special for a single digit price (love NewEgg!).
Cons: I'd like to say 'you get what you pay for' but even at that ludicrously low price, their paid product is actually horrible compared to their free product.
Summary: I've been using Bitdefender's free version for some time now. I figured, how could I go wrong spending less than $10 for a two year, 3 PC license? As soon as it was installed my home network became an absolute nightmare. It took over EVERYTHING without giving me any options on installation.
Pros: It's a great antivirus program that doesn't slow down even an older computer.
Cons: It's another product that thinks it needs to protect me from myself.
Summary: The best anti-virus protection vs cost ratio around honestly.. once my subscription expires ill just move to the anti-virus because its that good I just wish the firewall wasnt so bad...
Pros: I will just post the basics * One of the best antiviruses out there * Incredibly cheap compared to other anti-virus software * Tops the charts for catching viruses every time
Cons: * STILL HAS POP-UPS... for a paid antivirus the only time I EVER want to see you is if you caught somthing, really dont advertise to me. seriously this really erks me * The firewall is seriously lacking It uses windows firewall essentially.. so anything that can bypass windows firewall can also b...
Summary: i really don't comment.. usually never but after reading what was posted.. i had to say something.I'm tech with over 20 yrs experience and over 1500 builds along w / other certs
Pros: It's great all in one... it doesn't use all of resource's a lot of other all in one's. I've used a lot of different kind antivirus all in one's- microsoft, avast, iobit, ..... no-one suite can stop ALL... but this one does do a good job not great.. but good. remember , you get what you pay for an...
Cons: Not one all in one is good ...even this one. but it does the job very well . ...BUT.. if you have any..any residuals of software running .. it will cause havoc. I have had only 1 machine that had trouble with it and it was as a part of Norton left on the machine. once removed it worked well
Pros: This is the best Internet Security Suite in existence today. I've been using this for 5+ since Norton Internet Security failed to stop and detect some viruses. For Larry's review that give 1 egg because his computer is flawed you need to go back to school buddy ... if you are a computer tech that...
Summary: This is a great security suite and it can be installed on to 3 pcs. I may be off on the 2 mobile devices but it hasn't stated that it can be used on mobile devices. You really cannot go wrong with this purchase and if you subscribe to their emails you can actually get this for $24.95 or even less.
Pros: This product works as out of the way as Webroot Secure Suite (which I absolutely love). The autopilot mode is very good and doesn't bother you with any pop ups unless absolutely necessary. Scans (even on deep) are fast and thorough (quick/smart).. The price was the best thing about it at $7.95 yo...
Cons: Every cloud has to let a little rain fall. I can't find much wrong with this product except its footprint is a bit larger than Webroots. Only 3 pcs covered by the license where my Webroot does 3 pcs and 2 mobile devices.
Summary: I bought this from Newegg a couple months back for $7.95 but it was good for 2 years on 3 PCs instead of only 1 year as this one shows. A great piece of protection but I still run Malwarebytes Pro along with it, just in case.
Pros: Lightweight, doesn't use a lot of resources in it's auto pilot mode. Easily allows you to always skip individual files or complete folders during scans. Also allows you to disregard certain file types during it's scans as well as USB devices, etc.. Easy to restore files that were deemed as malici...
Cons: This one does not include a firewall so will make sure the Windows firewall is active. The next step up includes a firewall but sells for a higher price.
