Summary: I bought this program thinking i was going to get a cheap good antivirus, that wasnt the case. instead i for a 5 hour long computer sit down, running though trouble shooting programs and digging though my files and firewall to find the problem. after installing my programs wouldnt connect to the internet, my computer its self was connect but none of my programs would run with the internet.
Pros: Its an antivirus...
Cons: Its trash, i would rather deal with a virus...
Summary: All-in-All it was super cheap. I almost paid the same amount for 1 year and 1 pc the day before. Luckily they sold out too fast.
Pros: This anti virus is so much less annoying than free counter parts. It doesn't bother me every other day to restart my computer to update. It isn't constantly trying to get me to upgrade like the freebies. It hasn't caused any hiccups in gaming. I'm liking it.
Cons: Setting up the other two PC's is a bit convoluted. You have to create an account on the BitDefender site and manage the other devices from their. I took an egg away for this process.
Summary: In my 32 years in IT I've never seen a beta of any software with this many problems, much less something being sold to the public as a solution. When I clean an old machine without antivirus or sell a new machine, I want to install an antivirus solution and get it back to the customer, not spend several hours configuring it to work with whatever programs might fight it and pray that I got them all.
Pros: Inexpensive when on sale every couple weeks. They have a great uninstall tool even though it takes forever to complete. Always remember to use an antivirus' uninstall tool before installing a new antivirus solution.
Cons: I purchased several licenses and initial testing went well with some speed bumps, such as Ccleaner locking up the machine when set for secure deletion of temp files. Just add Ccleaner to the exceptions list in bitdefender and it will work fine.
Summary: First off, I had been using MSE for several years until I read reports stating its effectiveness had gone way downhill. I'm not the kind of person to open obvious viruses in emails, but I do sometimes visit websites and download things which could have viruses. Bitdefender ranks very highly in detection rates and I got it on a sale and figured why not? I had read that the 2013 version of software was buggy but the 2014 was much better. Obviously not good enough.
Pros: Good at finding viruses/malware
Cons: Constantly stops working after 3-4 days uptime on "User mode"
Pros: Got it on sale, so was definitely worth it. Bitdefender is usually in the top rated Antivirus programs out there, and I now know why, it works and works well. Uses minimal system resources, has a game mode, and doesn't bother me everyday to see what it found (if anything). It takes care of business.
Cons: It lagged my htpc (A6-5600k, 8gig), and the program would make everything unresponsive. Trying to move I tried adjusting settings, but gave up and just uninstalled it. System scans take incredibly long. Currently running Kaspersky and no problems.
