Summary: Once Tuneup was bought by AVG it went downhill. or maybe that was just around the time I began learning much more about the windows operating system than I had before.
Pros: some cool utilities to help laptops with poor graphics adapters function better (recommends turning off certain windows features like aero for better performance). automates the process of cleaning out old system files, registry errors, disk defragmentation.
Cons: windows is actually quite good at doing all of the above (besides optimizing pcs with low end adapters). and most of its functions can be done by either FREE alternatives, Windows, OR THE USER.
Pros: does everything for you in one click after your initial setup. repairs, corrects, removes any and all unneccessary files, settings, broken links, desktop clutter. optimizes, tunes and speeds your system. provides suggestions/reccommendation for optimal performance. Love it, best $10 i ever spent. infor...
Cons: i can download and share it with 2 other pc's/people.
Excerpt: This product was recommended to me by a relative. I have an HPp2 desktop with Windows 8.1 that is a year old. When I purchased the computer, I purchased the Norton 360 for $55. When I needed to purchase new antivirus software, AVG was recommended to me.
Summary: I can find my way around computers, but I don’t really consider myself an expert by any means. This product helped me to achieve a nearly perfectly running computer, in a half hour or so. I would do this again in a minute!
Pros: It got my computer smokin' in no time flat. I saw a definite jump in response time on my computer, and installed it in my wife’s laptop. Now she’s a happy camper. Told my brother about it, and he’s downloaded the trial version, and he’s happy with it. I’d have to say, for the novice, it’s one of ...
Cons: I found it cheaper a week after I bought it. Not really a con, but it’s the best I could come up with on short notice. I do wish they’d have a way on the duplicate finder, to opt out and ignore of some directories that are backed up. It’s a pain having to go through pictures/files that you know a...
Summary: Smart PC Care is a much better program that gets the job done.
Cons: I bought AVG PC TuneUp 2014 from Newegg, Used it for less than a week and unstalled it. They would have to pay me to use the program. Tried to get tech support and about a month later I got a response.
