Nikon N80

  • Summary: Overall, I am so glad I bought a Nikon product. The name and reputation should be enough to sell this camera on its own. So many great features, and endless array of optional equipment. I have found you can pick this camera up much cheaper through mail order. I actually bought a second through mail order istead of a dealler and saved hundreds. Look in the back of any photo magazine if your not sure where to look..
  • Pros: Could be confusing for some, with all the photo options
  • Cons: Could be confusing for some, with all the photo options

  • Summary: I have used this camera for the pas one year and it has neve let me down. Many useful features like DOF preview which were missing in its predecessor N-70 makes it a wonderful buy for the budget minded amateur. It also supports most nikon lenses with inability to use some functions in non-AF lenses. Good metering with center, spot and matrix. I think it is one of the best cameras around for the price.
  • Pros: does not have mirror lock up
  • Cons: does not have mirror lock up

The best you can buy in its class

  • Summary: I have used different cameras, from manual Russian cameras, to state of the art point-and-shoot. I have even fiddled with digital cameras, and considered switching to digital. Well, I decided to stick to film for now, so I bought the Nikon N-80 (known in Europe as Nikon F-80, same camera with minimal software differences). This is a very good camera, which adapts to every kind of user.
