This is my second Nikon camera. I had a FM2 for 14 years, now I have a FM3a for about a year. The FM3a is a mechanical camera with an aperture priority option (a very nice feature, which I have been using quite a bit). In my opinion the FM3a and the FM2 are one of the best cameras for travelling since they just don't break. For those looking in taking total control of their pictures with a very well built and reliable camera I would highly recommend the FM3a. Read more

I got the 3A to use with my N80. It meters with manual lenses(the N80 doesn't). It sure is nice to go back to a simple camera with just the right amount of automation! And the hybrid shutter is not battery dependant. If the battery dies, all you lose is the meter. The match needle can be hard to read in low light, but I lock the exposure with the AE-L button and shine a small flashlight in the lens to read it. It's been a pleasure shooting with my new Nikon! Absolutely perfect camera. I don't go to any photo trip without FM3A as a second (backup) body. Read more
