The Nikon F100 features multi-CAM 1300 auto focus system, viewfinders, matrix metering technology, 10 segment light sensor, Nikon D-types lenses, center-weighted mode, spot metering mode, automatic rewind, automatic bracketing modes, DX film speed sensing and custom functions.

Features

The Nikon F100 features a 35 mm film based single-lens reflex (SLR) camera body. It offers Nikon’s multi-CAM1300 auto focus system which provides five focus points where it can be selected by the camera or individually by the photographer using a joystick on the back of the camera. The active focus point is illuminated in the viewfinder by a red LED light. The Dynamic AF mode offers an incorporation of activities which include tracking the subject, attain, and maintaining proper focus with full use of all of the five focusing areas. The 3D-Color Matrix Metering uses the color tone of the subject as one of the factors for proper exposure in addition to the brightness and contrast, and the information about distance obtained from the lenses. In addition to this, the metering system uses a 10 segment light sensor and distance information from Nikon D-type lenses which provide exposure calculations. This camera offers exposure metering system taking into account the tone of the subject which also shows the available subject conditions of 3D-Color Matrix Metering, Center-Weighted Metering and Spot Metering. The motor drive features a high-speed film advance of 4.5 frames per second (fps) with automatic rewind and up to 5 frames per second with the addition of the Nikon MB-15 battery pack. The Nikon F100 features automatic bracketing modes and DX film speed sensing. The custom setting function is said to offer comfortable shooting from selection of preferred options.

Additional features

The Nikon F100 features Nikon F-mount as the mount for the camera. It offers ergonomic built on a solid magnesium alloy chassis which is wrapped in a rubberized non-skid grip.
