Summary: This is an utterly pro piece...it has allowed me to enjoy the very necessary feature of mid-roll film change on a camera that is still portable and convenient to carry in situations where camera gear must be as small and portable as possible. APS isn't a pro format by definition, but the pics I get consistently outperform the best digicams I've seen. Digital WILL get there, probably in 2000..
Pros: Compatible with entire Canon lens line; NO sacrifice in features despite a different format.
Excerpt: When I first saw the IX a few years ago in my local dealers window, I lusted after one, but it was about £600. Then they started selling bits of them, and I bought the body for £175 new, which is cheaper than the second hand prices some places. It had no lens, but I had a 28-200 from my eos1000fn. I like aps, because the panoramic picture are magic, and I like the information, the storage of film, ease of use and facility to take three formats.
Excerpt: I purchased the Canon EOS IX because I had heard good things about it, and wanted a high quality camera to take pictures on my travels. The ergonomics on this camera is great. It exudes quality. I only had to read the manual for a few minutes and was able to take some great shots. I highly recommend getting the Canon 50mm prime lens (1.8II only costs around £100, but gives you much better pictures, I can assure you) with it.
Excerpt: "I'm not a very technical person when it has to do with cameras so I'll just talk about what i know, this camera is small, lightweight and compact, perfect for: 1) the night out to a party ( small enough to fit in the the tiny bags all women carry) 2) going on holiday (easy to fit in those waistpouches AND not look like a laden donkey) 3) everyday use ( after all it looks good) This camera is great (as you know it uses the APS system) which ...
Excerpt: "The Canon EOS IX is an APS format Single Lens Reflex (SLR) camera. It has full compatability will all EOS lenses. I bought this camera as a backup for my EOS 50E (Elan IIE) kit. I wanted some of the advantages of APS without losing my investment in my EOS kit. The camera has not had a great deal of interest as a result of its off-centre lens mount, but I have had no balance problems with it. In fact, I find it easier to use than my 50E. The ...
Pros: Full EOS Compatability, APS Film interchangability
Excerpt: "I admit that the Canon EOS IX is really not a bad camera, but it is not worth the ca. £ 270 I paid for it, and that was without having bought any extras!! If you buy additional lenses, you could be spending up to ca. £ 500!! The camera is silver-metallic and black and it does look really good. One of its features is a flash that is activated by opening it and deactivated by closing it. A red-eye function is available. Partially exposed films can be ...
Pros: practical camera, you can hardly do anything wrong with it
Summary: Laadukas helppokäyttöinen tuote. Ostin, jotta voisin kuvata pitkillä suljinajoilla ja hyvin toimii. Kaukolaukaisin olisi toki mukavampi, koska siinä ei olisi etäisyyttä rajoittavaa johtoa. Omaan käyttööni kuitenkin täysin riittävä.
Summary: LIten och smidig, men väldigt effektiv.
