Canon Eos 300

Consumer Democracy

  • Summary: The EOS-300 is a perfect choice for SLR camera's users who want pro-features in a light-weight camera with very reasonable price. The 7-point auto focus is accurate and relatively fast (for most of the shooting conditions). The 35 zone exposure meter is excellent, and does perfect job in most situations. Whenever you feel like, you can switch to various manual settings, to help and improve the auto exposure setting.
  • Pros: Poor fill-flash algorithm
  • Cons: Poor fill-flash algorithm

Good camera poor films

Peter Beagles "the searcher", Amazon
6 June 2014
  • Summary: Camera and case received in excellent condition. However the two films that were advertised as part of the package, were very old, out of date and not able to be used. Would have been better not to bother to include them in the first place.

Canon EOS 300 - You can with a Canon

lostsworl..., Ciao

  • Excerpt: First of all what is it ? It is a 35mm SLR camera. What is SLR ? Single-lens reflex. What does that mean ? In summary, the term Single Lens Reflex is a type of camera where what you see is seen through the lens not the view finder. The image is reflected on a mirror which passes through a prism, as you look through the view finder you are seeing what the lens sees not what the view finder is seeing. This gives the user a true view of what is being taken.
  • Pros: everything about it
  • Cons: still trying to find one

  • Excerpt: What can I say, this is a wonderful piece of kit. it give you the full suppoort of a fully autofocus system for the beginner, with the option of becoming fully manual for the more professional. Its easy to load, clear displays in both the viewfinder and lcd display. having used the camera for over 4 years it is still my favourite even though Ihave others, I tend to use my trusty EOS 300. I have taken seascpae, in colour and black and white with the results being superb.
  • Pros: Easy to use as a beginners SLR allowing you to become a professional
  • Cons: Little clumsy

The EOS 300D is excellent value for money

alistairr..., Ciao

  • Excerpt: The EOS 300D, what a great bit of kit, I sold my old Bronica medium format setup to buy this camera. Not disappointed in the slightest apart from the flash positioning, when taking close-up photos. It only took around a day to familiarise myself with EOS 300, which is all credit to the Canon quick guide and simple to use menu. The EOS 300 is very light considering it is a full size SLR camera, even with a 200 mm lens, but robust (after dropping mine twice).
  • Pros: Easy to use with manual overide
  • Cons: No external flash connection

EOS 300

  • Excerpt: I bought my Canon EOS 300 is Heathrow Duty free on my way to our honeymoon 4 years ago. We flew to Kenya for a Safari and I read the instruction manual on the plane. We arrived and met a couple at our hotel who had already been on their Safari. They lent me their 300m zoom lens. I took 7 rolls of film but still use my old camera now and again in case they were not very good. We returned home and got the pictures developed and there was not a single picture out of focus.
  • Pros: Ease of use
  • Cons: Cost of developing so many pictures

  • Excerpt: This was my first slr camera although it is not my first use of an slr camera. It has an automatic set of functions for camera use like you would have on a normal point and shoot camera. These features are usefull for when you dont want fully manual operation and also good for getting used to the feel of the camera. It is also fully featured in manual operation.
  • Pros: versatility, variety of features
  • Cons: dislike the grip

  • Excerpt: What I love about this camera is that the automatic settings are so easy to use and infinitely forgiving that you will never be let down by your pictures, but at the same time it has so many more advanced settings that as you learn and build confidence you will be constantly delighted by the results this camera allows you to acheive.
  • Pros: photos that will never let you down
  • Cons: heavy
