Summary: The Canon EOS 1V is truly a professional 35mm film camera that represents the pinnacle of film cameras. I love to shoot with it. It is a fast auto focus camera, great fit and feel with the controls and solid build. I wanted this camera when they came out in 1990, but could not afford. I am happy to own now since digital is all the rage now; when I am shooting with this camera, it never fails to capture attention.
Summary: The EOS 1V is the choice of professional photographers the world over. Combining outstanding reliability with advanced features it is the world's leading AF camera. The best 135 film camera I've ever used.
Summary: I started shooting photos in high school using black and white film. Photography has always been a hobby of mine and in the last few years I have switched to digital - Canon 5D. I like how easy digital is from a work-flow perspective, but it just isn't film... So, about a year ago I decided that since I already had a nice Canon outfit I would go ahead and buy a film body to "go retro". I could not be happier with that decision.
Summary: I've owned the "V" as I affectionately call it since 2005 and it has taken: The image used by one of the best-known New York labs for it's customer service department's 2007 Christmas card Two shots that a London photojournalist friend used on the cover of his latest book About 40 pictures to illustrate two travel articles articles I've written and one currently "under construction" and The photos in my first exhibit, which will be in December 2008.
Pros: Comfortable Design, Fast Film Loading, Fingertip Controls, Reliable Operation, Strong Construction
Summary: This is a very well made camera, and a great buy since everyone wants a digital camera. As of this writing, Oct. 17,2008, this camera is still for sale new with the power booster, it comes to about $2,0000.00, I paid $472.00 in great condition! If you are old school like me and still use cameras like the old Canon F1 and a Leica M7, or older Hasselblad it will take you awhile to master this camera.
Summary: If you are still shooting film this is the camera body to have. It has to be one of the if not the best film body ever made. Coupled with the Canon power drive booster (PB-E2) It shoots up to 10fps. A great rugged camera body made especially for outdoor photography.
