Summary: My wife has breathing problems and this model made a big difference from night one. Honestly, it was like turning off a switch, no more sneezy, wheezy mornings for her since we got this for our bedroom. It runs on auto all day and sleep mode all night (which is relatively silent). Even i have to admit i wake up breathing better in the morning. I will definitely buy more when the price is right.
ya i like it, have to wait to see how it affects me over the long term

Summary: well it started right up and seems to be working okay. it looks nice, weighs about 15 pounds, is slightly smaller than the stated dimensions. i am using it in an old house in which my office is, and in which i have been doing a lot of construction work, spewing lots of presumably toxic lead filled dust everywhere. the house might be 1200 square feet. the office is 100 square feet.

Summary: After 1.5 years of continuous use, my Winix Plasma has finally died. I did shed a tear when it let out its final breath of artificially purified air. For a year and a half, from August 2013, it did its job extremely well. Damn well I tell ya. Wish it would have lasted another year or so and I would give it 5 stars hands down. But it only lasted the lifetime of a small toddler.
Summary: Light preface - I purchased this air purifier in May 2012. I'm only just reviewing because a) I think reviews should be based on time as much as "out of the box" conditions, and b) I forgot to review earlier. Like most - I bought this system to combat heavy dust and pet dander allergies. This is probably common sense for most but I CAN NOT say that this purifier is a fix all product.
Summary: In reviewing several air purifiers, I found the Winix PlasmaWave 5300 to be the most effective True Hepa Air Filter for the money. I have had no issues with this device and am very happy with it. I have asthma and it seems to really help the air quality in my bedroom. I would (and have) recommended it to others!
Summary: Spring 2014 here in the Houston area came and beat me and my wife into the ground. We would wake up with our eyes burning, sneezing, scratchy throats and not having rested very well. We would suck down allergy pills just to be able to sleep...and then have to take more when we woke up so we could breathe during the day. After being outside to play with the dogs for a little my wife would come back in and be sneezing for a good hour, off and on.
Summary: This is a great product. I have been using it heavily for a couple years now. After a finishing my basement it left quite a bit of dust floating around. This thing was extremely helpful. The only negative thing I have to say is how ridiculously expensive filter replacement is for it. I recently discovered that the HF-300 True Hepa Filter will work just fine with the Winix PlasmaWave 5300 Air Cleaner model. The cost is only $23 right now comared to $63.99!!
Summary: I have dust mite and mold spore allergies. If you're buying this thinking you won't have to regularly clean your room or sheets, you'll be disappointed. To get maximum effectiveness it needs to be in conjunction with regular sheet washing and vacuuming. It does however work... sometimes quite humorously. I say this in all seriousness... if you have this on auto mode and pass gas in the room the thing will go into turbo mode. No joke.
Summary: This is an awesome HEPA filter that moves a large volume of air quietly. Period. I know it gets the dust out of the air because when light shines through my window, I can see no dust particles in the light beam like I could before I got the filter. I can feel a substantial amount of air blowing out of the top exhaust vent on fan speed 2, which is still quiet. I find the sound pleasant (with PlasmaWave turned off). I use it for a white noise machine in my bedroom.
