BACK GRILL *EXTREMELY* DIFFICULT TO REFIT!! Be Warned

Summary: The machine works well. But, and a very BIG BUT, come to cleaning the filters the trouble really starts. After PRIZING the back grill off, the perma filters are easily damaged by the use of an upholstery brush as indicated by the instructions, so DON'T use a brush just the vacuum's bear handle. To refit the back grill onto the tower is a near on impossible task, it will take at least an hour and you may still fail to replace it as I have.
More expensive to operate then ionic purifiers but cleaner air overall.

Summary: I have had every type of air purifier from hepa to silent ionic purifiers. I would have to say ionic purifiers are great for you don't have to replace any filters but hepa trap more particles "dust, pollen etc." by moving more air. I have three of these purifiers and wouldn't go back to ionic purifiers again. I have found some discount web sites for replacement filters and filter rebuild kits to save money.
Summary: I bought two of these air purifiers for my daughters family. They live in California and their neighbors smoke heavily and due to poor construction of their townhouse they have a strong smoke smell in their townhouse coming from the unit next to theirs. This was causing health problems for our grandson. So I researched air filters and thought these were the best for what they needed. The two air purifiers were delivered straight to their home.
The power supplies are garbage. I purchased one and power supply went

Summary: What a piece of junk this thing is. The power supplies are garbage. I purchased one and power supply went. They sent me new one and same thing, smelled like electrical fire. Wet thru about 4 or 5 and they can't even replace this model anymore, Sent me a new model, but not happy with it.
Summary: After reading the glowing reviews on Amazon, I bought this air purifier for about $130. What a rip-off. It immediately filled the room with a chemical/bleach smell which only dissipated a little bit after leaving the unit on for about 8 hours. I had it for less than a month, and it started making an incredibly loud repetitive clunking noise. The air comes out sideways. Even on high it didn't push much air out.
makes a better white noise generator than an air filter

Summary: This unit just doesn't move air around enough to do its job effectively. Partly I think this is because of its tower design (which doesn't do much for vertical air circulation) and partly I think its fan is under-powered, as you can really hardly feel any air movement when you put your hand right next to it.
Summary: Very happy with this air cleaner so far. I've only had it a few days, but I really like it. It has an auto feature that automatically adjusts between low, medium, and high depending of what is needed. I use the noise of the machine to sleep. On low you can't even tell it's on. But, I need the noise so I set it on high to sleep. I am also pleased that it has washable filters -- unlike my last cleaner that required two filters which ran about $25.
Summary: Generally nice unit, however there's a Holmes unit which is almost identical except for the control panel. The Holmes uses the same motor, fan blades and filters, but it tries to direct the air straight out. It is very forceful. This is good, in that it creates airflow around the room, collecting dust to be filtered out. The Bionaire unit in contrast, does a poor job of directing the air.
