Perfect Cooling Option

  • Excerpt: This Sunpentown portable air conditioner has best combination of features and value. This unit is effective, efficient and easy to use, and it does cool my 300 square feet room. Its digital display and remote control make it easy to control temperature settings. Perfect for my need.
  • Pros: It really cools down my room
  • Cons: Have to empty water tank twice a day

Terrific for the price

  • Excerpt: After seven happy years with the predecessor of Sunpentown, a 7500 BTU portable Gree, I figured it was time for a replacement. I settled on the WA-9000E, and am not disappointed.
  • Pros: Great price, good a/c power, nice remote control, effective window kit, continuous drainage valve.
  • Cons: Some design features not intuitive-- ok with instructions

A good deal for the price

  • Excerpt: My bedroom is in the bottom level of my condo (ie, the basement) and I ordered this AC because of the separate dehumidifying action. The A/C does a very good job of cooling off my bedroom and minimizing the dampness. Unfortunately, we have to wake up about every 3 hours to empty out the water tank.
  • Pros: Easy installation, cools room quickly, great price
  • Cons: small water tank, unit is a bit loud

Works, but it sure is fussy

  • Excerpt: I had a similar problem as the other reviewer, about it shutting off. Maybe not exactly the same, but we faced a similar situation where it stopped working and we scrambled to call Sunpentown.
  • Pros: works well, nice cold air
  • Cons: overheats realtively easily, takes up a bit of room, empty drain tank often
