Summary: In April 2011, I purchased a Sunpentown (SPT) air conditioner for $450. I ended up not using it last summer and stored it, unopened in its box, until a month ago. Right out of the box, it didn't work. After trading emails with a customer service representative James who after 3 rounds of email told me that it doesn't matter that the product was defective out of the box.
Summary: the air conditioner works great, i bought mostly for the heat pump , i like that it works better then the little space and cost use to run , the only thing i dislike is that is kinda loud but all you to do to fix that is turn up the tv, and i would tell someone to purchase this product because it does a great job
Summary: After looking at numerous options I selected this unit to provide cooling for a 300 square foot Florida room which runs around 95 degrees during summer afternoons. After four years of reliable service, this unit is still capable of lowering room temperature at least 10 deg on its' own and more with the help of a ceiling fan and air from the house. The only insulation on this room is in the ceiling.
Summary: Very powerful and cools well. Pretty loud when you first turn it on (and I love white noise) so I'd recommend turning it on before you're ready for bed so it will be at the lower (and quieter) fan setting (if on auto) once room is cooler. I love the timer and remote control options. Easy to set up.
Summary: great a/c quiet! good value included free shipping . if compressor or whatever kicks on you dont notice ,built well. quick, easy setup easy controls inc. remote. produces some water ,but very little ,and easy to drain. you will be pleased .when the season is done just roll into nearby closet.
Summary: I didn't buy one of these units, but one was loaned to me while our central AC system was being repaired. We felt that at least our living room might stay a bit cooler in the process since the outside temps were between 95-105 degrees. We didn't expect this machine to do miracles, and it did cool our room down somewhat, but it never got below 81 degrees, even at night.
Summary: I bought this product in the summer of 07. I live in a room over the garage that gets the brunt of the sun and therefor reaches 78-80 degrees even with the AC on. At first the unit after running for a couple hours would drop the temp to 72 on a summer day but no lower. The first spring/summer I did not have to change the water at all. The next spring/summer it could only drop the temp down to 73-74 and I had to change the water 5-6 times.
Summary: I'am a certified EPA HVAC Tech that chooses A/C and Electronics as a hobby only because I make more income by other means and the reason why I bought this unit is strickly as a backup means for hurricane aftermath. I ran last night to mimic hurricane scenario and was disappointed at performance keep in mind my room is 15X15= 225sq.ft.
Summary: Last summer was the most humid in San Diego, CA I have ever experience in the 16 years I've lived here. My husband was working nights at the time and complained the heat was making it unbearable to sleep during the day. Our home is over 2,200 SF so running the air conditioner is NOT cost effective when there are only 2 people at home occupying 2 rooms in the entire house. I ordered this unit after doing extensive online research on several products.
