Excerpt: The Sharp Portable Air Conditioner came with the apartment I moved into during the summer. The unit was already installed in the common living area. I considered moving this unit to my bedroom, but had second thoughts on moving it because it weighs around 90 pounds. Despite that it has wheels it didn't glide well over my rug so I had to pick up the unit to slide the rug under it. When I turned on the unit it sounded pretty quiet.
Excerpt: The Sharp CVP12LX Portable Air Conditioner is the first portable air conditioner that I have ever owned. I had purchased this Sharp CVP12LX Portable Air Conditioner as a replacement when my main air conditioner broke down. I was unable to repair that air conditioner for a while so this had to keep me cool in the meantime. I love this product. It is really efficient and can really get the room cool quite quickly.
Sharp CVP12LX Portable Air Conditioner: Library Quiet

Excerpt: When we converted our garage into a combination workshop/design studio a couple of years ago we probably didn't give enough consideration for the air-conditioning needs of the project. Since the air handler for our central air system is located in the garage we had always assumed that tapping into the central system was going to be the answer.
Sharp CVP12LX Portable Air Conditioner-quiet and effective

Excerpt: I live in Hawaii where it's pretty hot year-round and the house we're living in doesn't have central air (most newer homes are being built w/ central air, but older homes generally don't come w/ it). We used to have a rather loud portable air conditioner that we got on sale at Home Depot, but it was a pain to use at night when you're trying to get to sleep. We saw a demo model for this one at Home Depot and loved that it was so quiet!
Excerpt: I am in a field of study that requires moving around constantly. I was stationed in a location for 3 months during the peak of last summer, and the provided accomodation had no air conditioning. To make things worse, no window airconditioner could be installed because of the odd shape. Thats when I found out about portable airconditioners. Unfortuately, all the of them had horrible reviews. Some of the brands I researched was Haier and some other unheard brand..
Excerpt: My husband and I have a split level townhouse, that (needless to say, since I'm writing this review) does not have air conditioning. We live in Colorado, where it can get pretty hot during summer months, so after the first year of not having air conditioning, we decided that we had to do something. We looked at the costs of installing central air, which for us- at that time was upwards of $3,000, when all was said and done.
Summary: Very cold air, very good dehumidification, decent size, relatively quiet. Nice remote, though I wish it was backlit. I'm using this in a 12x17 sunroom and it keeps the room cold when it's 98 degrees outside. It's expensive, but sometimes you get what you pay for.
Summary: If you bedroom runs hot like mine, due to 3 computers, and other electronics - this is the item for you. My bed room is always about 10 degrees warmer then any other room, I get morning and afternoon sun, no other room gets both. So with that and my computers and electronics this is the AC for you. NO DRAINS, no hard installations. This is truely plug and play.
