Summary: I have owned this Unit for 5-6 years and it has done a good job. the past 2 years its been filling with water. a tech was telling me the evap coil needs to be replaced. What isn't worth it on a unit this old. So i drained it and used it letting it drain into a bucket. I recently took it apart.
Summary: I've owned one of these for two and a half years and this is a great air conditioner when it works. It kept my apartment cool and it has a very nice look to it vs other brands. The mounted window piece is very easy to use, but leaves a tiny bit of space between the panels so air can enter, this...
Summary: I'd avoid this if you want to stay cool. It's far too noise even on the lowest fan settings to use in a bedroom when you're trying to sleep. At high it's obnoxious and it never ever shuts off unless you put the temp up to 90. I have a small 8000 btu window unit hat cools better.
Pros: Looks good. Nice remote and touch controls. Love the auto swing vent.
Cons: very loud and does not cool well. You'd think it was working well because the air that comes out is cool but it's all noise and not much cool. I'm using it to cool a living room, kitchen combo with cathedral ceilings in Florida while my central air is out and the best it can do is 90 degrees duri...
Avoid at all costs. Does not cool, LG support is useless. Designed to fail after 1 year.

Summary: Bought this unit at Costco in May 2013. Could barely keep up with my 250 sq foot living room in the first year. The second year, I ran it for the day and it could not bring down the temperature in my apartment and started spitting water everywhere. LG support was useless.
Unit is Dead; Lost All Refrigerant through Corrosion

Summary: My unit worked fine the first summer, produced a bit less cold air the second summer, and now is dead. The refrigerant has all leaked out, and the innards are corroded. LG has refused to compensate me in any way. Their customer service is a quagmire and thus a huge waste of time.
Summary: I got 2 of them for my 600 sq foot apt (with built in, but non functional swamp cooler - woohoo) 1 is absolutely perfect, quiet, evaporates most of its waste water, etc. The other one is loud has to be emptied of water every few days and alternates between clacking noises and belt whining noises.
Pros: Cost. .Sleek design. Remote. Energy Saver Mode.
Cons: Questionable quality control process. Now actually capable of cooling the space you'd expect from 13000 BTU (11000 btu should do 500ish sq feet). But I think that has to do with the strange bottom to top design and the slimness. It just doesn't move enough air.
Summary: I have this unit. It worked great for about a year and a half. I would agree that it is loud. It is still blowing cool air but now our unit blows water all over the place. We called the 800 number on the side of the unit to see if we could get an idea of what the problem was.
