Summary: I had to write something as too many of the positive reviews say exactly the same thing, "ice box, etc" which makes me wonder what it is they reviewed. First, this product is an energy hog and probably as inefficient as you can get for cooling of the air.
Summary: I owned this air conditioner for a couple of years. It works OK until the compressor gets hot and shuts down until it cycles again. Not good in Texas where it's hot 24hrs a day. The unit would cool about 10 mins an hour. It could not keep my 10'X 15' office cool after May 15.

Summary: Surprised to see this still for sale, with current reviews. Interesting. Thought I'd chime in. I bought this exact unit for $540 in the summer of 2008. 6 summers later it's still going strong. I use it to cool a 500sq ft 2nd story studio apartment with vaulted ceilings, which isn't easy.

Summary: Window AC are not attractive or are portable AC an impulsive purchase: I wanted to be able to look out the window and planed to use old window AC for different building. Reviews for this portable AC seemed good.
Summary: arrived when promised, didn't have any problems with installation. Very easy to use and works great. Only thing is having to empty water almost every day, but it is easy to do. Keeps area cool and conformy.
