LOVE IT! If you live in a dry climate it should work for you too.

Summary: We live in a dry climate and wanted something to cool off the main living area, which is a rather open. This unit works like a charm. Put it in the corner by an open window with a window open on the opposite side of the house. Main noise is the fan, which can be either very quiet on low or somewhat loud on high. On high though it really pushes a lot of air, and can be felt 20' away. We do not really need it on high as the natural circulation cools the entire area.
Summary: Only really works when its cool at night. I live on the 17th floor of an aprtment building and it gets lots of heat and light! The fan did not dreallh cool the room down lenough to make it enjoyable to sit when lit was daylight.
Summary: Arrived in good condition. One vertical vane was dislocated, which interfered with the 'swing' feature, was out of place but I was able to pop it back in with a minimal effort. I'm using it to cool a spare bedroom that I use as an office that has an unprotected southern exposure. Even with AC on, it can be quite warm. It's about a 10'x10' loft space. This cooler does a good job of keeping it bearable. Extra credit because it will lift off the reservoir for easy cleaning.
Summary: Functional swamp cooler. This thing has a really nice fan. Even on low you can feel it across the room. Water reservoir is large and easy to clean. Timer is straightforward to use. Has a remote, but never tried it. Only con is the plastic body isn't that strong. Around the front fins and top loading tray it is noticeable.
