Summary: Bought this unit three weeks ago, just before we hit the record-breaking heat wave. It does NOT work! The energy saver mode is a joke--there's no difference between it and the actual cool mode. It's 85 degrees outside today, and I turned the unit on in the middle of the night to start cooling my small apartment. When set to 75 degrees, the unit will kick on at 85 degrees, cool until the temp right at the unit hits 82 degrees, then shuts off.
Summary: Compact, quiet, installed to make a guest room tolerable in the summer's awful heat and humidity, very successful at that and now regularly used with the aid of a fan to dehumidify that room and two others plus a bathroom, all opening off a common hallway.
Summary: I own three of these (they have the Amana name on them, but they are Haier) and they have worked flawlessly for five years. They cool better than any window AC I have ever owned. Usually the motor bearings burn out in all other AC window units by now. No so with Haier. It cools so well it will freeze you to death unless it is extremely hot outside. I highly recommend Haier AC units.
Summary: I bought this AC because I was somewhat on a budget and I live in a TINY city apartment and didn't need much (or so I thought.) I put the AC in the bedroom, which is probably a 10x10 room, and set the AC on the lowest temp (60 degrees.) It never got my room below 75, even with the door shut and it running all night. The air that blows is cool, but not COLD, and I had to put a fan directly in front of it to get the air to travel at all.
Summary: I have this AC and used it for about 2 years then it developed a leak. It doesn't cool anymore. I tried to get Haier to repair it or get a replacement I have to pay for everything. I had one before this and that lasted for over 5 years without any problem. I believe they have a problem with their quality. I would not buy another AC from them anymore.
Summary: This is easy to install, easy to clean, easy to live with, and has been very lasting. One unexpected bonus: the remote has a magnet on the back so you can stick it to anything metal near your bed or chair.
Summary: This is the crappiest AC on the market. I had a defective Amana unit, which was still under warranty. This company took over Amana and sent me a replacement Haier unit. That one blew hot air. I called customer service, they said you need to run the unit for 24 hours straight and after that it will be fine. Did that, still blew hot air. Called again, they agreed to replace. I got the unit replaced, a month later, hot air again. The unit is also very very loud.
Summary: I BOUGHT THIS AC,LASTED 3 MONTHS QUIT WORKING. I CONTACTED THE COMPANY ABOUT WARRANTY, THEY AGREED TO REPLACE IT.I GOT THE SECOND ONE SEVERAL WEEKS LATER,AS SOON AS I INSTALLED IT FAN RATTLED,IT IS JUNK TOO!!! STAY AWAY FROM HAIER PRODUCTS,I PURCHASED A DEHUMIDIFIER ALSO AND IT WORKED LESS THAN A YEAR, ITS JUNK TOO!!!!
