Summary: I've had a lot this is by far the best I live in a apartment above the water heaters and the Landry mat it cools this place off great and I live in az phoenix it's so hot I can cook on the pavement
Pros: Highly efficient, good cooling capacity. This is our second unit, the first unit was bought from a different vendor and it arrived in good conditions.
Cons: The system could not, in any shape or form be considered refurbished or re manufactured. It was badly damaged upon arrival. Cracked plastic covers and components. Internal damage, bent radiator, missing components. Do not lose the shipping box!
Cons: Remote control missing, instruction book missing, screws missing, box was all mangled when it arrived. Without instructions, I have no idea what icon means what in order to make the unit work. The window attachment does not make sense without instructions. I am guessing screws are missing because...
Summary: When you certify something as "refurbished" I believed there is a reasonable expectation that the item is somewhat clean. Also, the shipper, "ONTRAC" delivered the 90lb item to the wrong house and never followed up.
Pros: This was a great buy on a high quality air conditioner. It really keeps our largish (600 sq ft) master suite cool. Also leaving it on day and night on a temp setting of 72F, our first months power bill went up only $7. I'm more than willing to pay that to keep the room habital during the Summer.
Cons: I was REALLY dirty. I spent an hour removing dirt, grease and mold from the unit when it arrived. Because of the packaging there is no was this occurred during shipping so it looked like it was never cleaned after being returned originally. It was REALLY gross!
Summary: It is definitely a good value. It is hard to install if you have casement windows. I ended up drilling a hole in the wall to attach the tube outside.
Pros: It works, will cool about 2 rooms, or about 600 square feet. If you get a good one, it seems to last - this one has been working flawlessly for about 3 years. Comes with a kit to attach to sliding or single hung windows (the kind that slide up and down)
Cons: When they are shipped they are frequently damaged. The base of the first one I ordered was cracked so it leaked all over the floor. NewEgg was good about replacing it, - next one works fine but the remote was missing. Don't really need it, but Newegg did offer $25 toward the purchase of a new one...
Summary: I have no clue about HVAC, but it works for me so it must be good! First time I have ever bought my own A/C. Also I have no clue what BTU means, and I'm too lazy to wiki it, so take my opinion on it with a grain of salt. I know the more the better, but that's about it!
