Pops my breaker. Customer service is a JOKE!

Christina Leigh, Amazon
31 August 2014
  • Summary: Got this unit to take camping (we have an exhaust port in the tent). We had it plugged in to the campground electricity which is strong enough to power a motor home. The unit will run fine, even for a couple hours, but then when the AC condenser would TRY to turn back on, it would just make a...

As Others Mentioned, Terrible Product and even more Terrible Company!!!

Revalation, Amazon
7 September 2013
  • Summary: First off, let me just give you a bit of general advice towards purchasing a portable AC. If you are debating between a portable and a traditional in window unit, save yourself the headache and stick with the in-window unit.

Works fine

Dean K., Newegg
14 June 2013
  • Pros: Works well, cools my master bedrom pretty quickly, has remote control and LCD display, has adjustable window mount, build quality seams good, plugs into regular outlet, it is portable.
  • Cons: It's pretty loud but not unbearable and not any louder than any other portable or mounted A/C I had experince with.

This review is for Haier 12,000 BTU AC/11,000 BTU Heater

LiterateWalrus, Amazon
13 June 2013
  • Summary: I've been researching these 'portable air conditioner' for awhile and saw that many of them had poor reviews. I was leery about getting one but a window unit was not an option so I eventually bought the Haier HPF12XHM-LP which is similar to this machine in that it has 12,000 BTU air conditioner but...

DOA

Don C., Newegg
7 June 2013
  • Summary: Brought this unit form my upstairs Office / Server room and after letting the unit settle for 24 hours as recommended by Haier, the unit displayed a E22 error after plugging it in. Not a good start with a expensive A/C unit such as this.
  • Pros: Big, Hefty with remote and windows kit
  • Cons: Unit was dead on arrival Unit is a pain to get replaced plus no return policy from newegg doesn't help. Without a expensive unit for over 2 weeks now. Must dispose of the defective unit myself. Window kit does network well with builder grade windows. Doesn't fit correctly and seems to need some m...

Cools Me Off

Michaela S., Newegg
7 May 2013
  • Summary: I wish Newegg would package this thing in another box, or use tape, or giant zipties, or something. It had scratches all over it from the remote and other pieces flying all over the place in the box. Blah.
  • Pros: I love this A/C. It's only as loud as any other wall-unit I've had, though it vibrates the floor a lot more when the A/C is running. Haven't tested the heater or dehumidifier, but the vibrating and loudness is gone when it's just the fan. It's going to go through a California torture test soon, b...
  • Cons: Vibrates the floor, Newegg doesn't give it any extra padding (and the box is only closed with two plastic straps, which come off during shipping - if you're lucky, one barely stays on and manages to get it to you with no accessories missing), and there's no "This End Up" marker on the box, so the...

Not what I epxected from past Haier appliances

mechman1, Amazon
30 March 2013
  • Summary: I have owned two similar units for 9 years with no issues. I wanted to get new models to replace the old ones. The first night, I tried to use the heating option, and the unit just blew frigid air from the back opening.

Haier Portable Air Conditioner

john fisher, Amazon
27 August 2012
  • Summary: Needed to cool down the master bedroom of our house ( 18 X 18 )room this summer. The setup was simple, just make sure to plug in to wall socket with 3 prongs. The exhaust was easy to install, fit our extra large window frame with no problem.

A cooling beast, works well.

Stephen B., Newegg
17 June 2012
  • Summary: Was a refurb on Woot for $295.
  • Pros: This thing cools like a beast! Somewhat loud but all portable ones are. The unit lets you install in places you'd otherwise not be able to cool. Dual hoses means no air exchange from cooled area. This is a full ton of cooling where and when you need it.
  • Cons: All portable units are loud. The hoses are very stiff but are somewhat sturdy. Not nearly as portable as you'd think but this is a 150# chunk of machinery. Probably should buy different tubes to allow some flexability. You do need to drain the water tank on occasion. Believe the instructions abou...
