Excerpt: We were in the market for a new air conditioner last summer. When we were shopping we were considering price, performance and energy consuption. This was the best deal for our needs. It works wonderfully to cool the upstairs of our home. Since it is in our bedroom we also had to consider how much noise it created. Surprisingly for how many BTU's it produced it was whisper quiet.
Excerpt: I have owned this air conditioner for about 4 years now and just like the yard needs raking and the flowers need planting, I have to open up this air conditioner and force the fan inside to move. Every winter it sticks or seizes up and it will not budge until I put quite a bit of pressure on the fan blades. It also happens in the summer after a heavy rain so it must be rusting just enough to cause it to stop spinning freely.
Excerpt: The GE Thru-Wall Air Conditioner is great for the price especially when considering all of the energy saving options that are included with it. I live in CHarlotte, NC on the third floor of an apartment complex. Summers are hot. Temperatures will rise over 100% and humidity is very high as well. I placed this unit in our master bedroom which is a large room with a walk in closet and bathroom attached. It does a great job.
Excerpt: General Electric air conditioners work great. I bought my grandmother this unit and she loves it. It was easy to install and quite easy to use. It has a slide out filter for easy cleaning. It has an energy savings option. It has ten cooling settings. The air conditioner has a fan cycle switch for reduced energy consumption. It is a slide out chassis. It cannot produce heat and it does not have a remote function.
Great for the summer, but cooling capacity is small.

Excerpt: Being from Florida, I was use to central AC. As soon as I moved to New England though, I noticed that it was a thing of the past. So, in desperate attempts to stay cool (since the heat was the main reason I LEFT the Sunshine State!) we bought this Air Conditioner from GE.
