A little on the noisy side, but works pretty well overall.

  • Excerpt: I have one large room in my home that was built after the rest of the house and not hooked up to the central air. My husband and I decided to purchase this unit to keep the room cool. We purchased it some time ago and it still works really well. I live in Florida, so the summers are cruel and really hot, so we need a unit that can stand up the heat. This one does just that.

  • Excerpt: We bought our air conditioner used. Even used this has been the greatest AC unit we have had! At first it was used in a bedroom and I swear ice wouldn't melt. After having my son we moved the unit into the living room and there it kept my living room, baby's room, and bathroom all cool and comfortable. It has awesome power and seems to last and last.

  • Excerpt: We found this on sale at Wal-mart and ours were old so they had to go. The old one I had was some Fridgidare I think and it worked for a couple of years and they I had to trade it out. This air conditioner I have a 10,000BTU and we got it for the living room. It was such a good one we went right back the next day and bought another one for the back area of the house. They were only about $300 a piece and are Energy Star rated!

GE 10,000BTU ac

  • Excerpt: I bought a 10, 000 BTU GE air conditioner more than 5 years ago so far it has not given me any problems. I don't think it cools very well though. It is also noisier than a split ac. In summers we have to use fans to circulate the cool air throughout our apartment as the ac itself does not have much cooling power to cools up all the rooms. It also uses up more electricity as compared with a split ac model.

  • Excerpt: Last summer was the pretty miserable because our AC died in the house. We had central air and paid decently high monthly rates to run it. With the summer approaching this year we were going to try to tough it out, but thankfully a good friend of our dropped by with an GE window unit from Sams club. It is 10,000 btu and is programmable. It is energy star rated and can be programmed to save money.
