A wonderful purchase! Sleek, powerful!

San Clemente Christine, sylvane.com
31 May 2014
  • Summary: The unit is pretty and sleek, the 2 hoses were easy to install and this unit fit into my verticle sliding window. It freezes my bedroom when we had 100 degree days in So.Cal., it was a god send during the fires we had. I kept it running constantly for 24 hours at a time due to the incredible amounts of smoke in the outside air. With a fan positioned out side of my bedroom, it blew air down the hall way and kept a 2500 sq. ft house ( up stairs) fairly cold.
  • Pros: Accurate Temperature Controls, Cools the Whole Room, Easily Portable, Easy to install, Easy to use, Easy Window Installation, Energy Efficient, Even Air Distribution, Powerful, Quiet, Sleek Style

Not very cool

Need some cool air, brandsmartusa.com
17 August 2013
  • Excerpt: Bought this unit to cool a very small bedroom. It is not strong enough to cool even this small bedroom. Don't waste your money on this unit. It may be good enough to cool a closet, that's about it.
  • Cons: Heavy

Miracle in a Box

BP, sylvane.com

  • Summary: This unit cools the lower level of a Colonial. During a week of 100 degree heat, the house was cool and comfortable. Installation was a breeze. Extremely happy with this product.

Easy to install/uninstall. Works great.

Peter, ABT Electronics
15 July 2013
  • Summary: The controls appear very simple, but are a little confusing as to the difference between actual temperture and set temperature. Also, it is easy to inadvertantly change it from drying to AC. But these just take a little getting used to and are not really significant negatives.
  • Pros: Cools the Whole Room, Easily Portable, Easy Window Installation, Energy Efficient, Even Air Distribution, Quiet

A Good Portable AC Unit

Mountain Man, brandsmartusa.com
8 June 2013
  • Excerpt: I purchased the unit primarly for a large room upstairs in my house to supplement the central AC system, but unit does a decent job of cooling area without using the central system. The major issues was with the window installation kit, which is poorly designed with cheap material. I created my own window kit by crafting a wooden insert using a sabre saw, rasp file, and joiner which works much better than the kit supplied with the unit.
  • Pros: Accurate Temperature Controls, Easily Portable, Energy Efficient, Even Air Distribution
  • Cons: Loud

A breath of cool air.

Jared C., sylvane.com
20 May 2013
  • Summary: I live in an apartment building that has old casement windows (no crank!) so window air conditioning options are limited to portable or one designed for our casement windows. We opted for the portable one because we can take it with us when we move! Key features that sold me on this product were: Dual hose design: The air intake is outside so your newly cooled air isn't vented outside.
  • Cons: Difficult to Install

Worth the money…for sure!

Larry the Cooler, brandsmartusa.com
19 August 2012
  • Excerpt: Great that it was quick and easy to install…i.e., if you have access to custom sized piece of wood for window filler if necessary. The plastic window insert supplied will not fil every sized window but is easily modified with the aforementioned piece of wood.
  • Pros: Easy to assemble hoses, Instantly began to cool
  • Cons: You may need wood filler
