Summary: I purchased this equipment about a year ago. The Central Air went out in my home while hosting 20 people this past Memorial Day for a cookout. I brought the unit downstairs, and to my surprise, it actually cooled the living room and kitchen (700sq ft.)! With 20 people running inside and out (temp. 94) and half of them were a bit on the heavy side, again, I was impressed! The best part about this unit is that YOU DON'T HAVE TO DRAIN THE WATER!!
Summary: It is 100 degrees outside, and it is still humid in here, and although the reading on the unit it set for 75 degrees, it feels warmer. I bought the proper size for my room, but it can't handle it, as its loud compressor stays on 24/7. Stick with a window unit if you can. I'll be selling this for half the price that I paid, just to be rid of it.
Pros: Noisy and weak
Cons: Doesn't Cool Air, Loud, Makes Air Humid, Uneven Cooling
Summary: I have a huge portable AC at work as a backup in the IT room, and it taught me you need TWO hoses, air in and out to make portable AC's work. I tried a one hose AC, that uses room air to cool and then exhausts it, won't work. Must be two hose. This can't get a five star rating as the only way to get it to use full outside air is to block a vent in back of it and who knows what that might do to it. Up to the 80's that dosen't seem to matter. We'll see later in the summer.
Pros: Accurate Temperature Controls, Cools the Whole Room, Dehumidifier, Easy Window Installation, Even Air Distribution, Quiet
